Will have to teach an 11 year old how to tune it differently now.  There are 3 loud stations in Marion, Indiana but I am trying to show him how to tune for weaker stations after dark.  I wonder how many young folks don’t have a “radio” in their home.?  My grand son has never seen one other than the car radio and doesn’t even know how to use that as his family uses XM radio in their car or blue tooths from their iPhone.

Does turning down the sensitivity really work at night for distant stations?  I will have to try it.  I have a 5000 w station at 1310 khz about 2 miles across the lake from me.  It kills my favorite 75 meter net on 3930 khz.

Did the beta builders have any trouble with performance?  Our original build sounded terrible.

 What a fun kit. I pre-built the case and the antenna coil as that might’ve been a little too much for an 11-year-old. He is now getting confident enough to hold both the soldering iron and the solder. In the past I would hold the soldering iron and he would apply the solder.  He is learning how to identify the parts and hands them to me at the appropriate time. We test each resistor on an ohm meter. He can see the small numbers on the capacitors with his naked eyes. I still need the magnification and light from my loupe.
