Re: More Murania Mods
So, of course, I made a mistake...Fat fingers and old eyes...I mistyped the total number of turns for L1...It is 61 turns, not 51 turns...Sorry for the error...Jim WB2LHP

Hi All,
My Pup got me up at 0500 local today. I turned on my un- modified Murania and heard WBAP, WBBM , WGN, WSM (local), WHO, WLS, WSB,
WTAM (local), WOAI, WAKM (local) and my old favorite WWL. This

Re: No hiss from speaker
GA Paul,
Good going Paul. Can you receive WHO 1040, or WMT 600 ? It will be good to have your rcvr as a demo unit for the upcoming Expo.

Re: No hiss from speaker
Thanks for the reply Johnny. I did go ahead and finish it last night. It worked perfectly even though I did not get the hiss like the manual said.
Interestingly, I had put the continuity tester

Re: No hiss from speaker
Gm Paul
I built mine a few weeks ago
And that was my outcome as well.
Dave advised me to go ahead with the build.
I did all everything was fine.
I think we may need to update the manual.

Re: Here is my finished Murania
Yes, I did and the print was so small I only recognized things like C2, etc. I normally would not have even thought of that when checking the parts with the BOM. This AM I put my lighted loupe on

Here is my finished Murania
I am listening to our local AM station as I write this. My Murania is one of the Beta build units. It works great. The build was simple as can be and I feel like the kid 60 years ago with my first
