Hi Ray,
 
I connected the center conductor and the braid together at each end.
Then each end was soldered directly to their respective circuit board pieces.
I also tried 10 ga. stranded house wire for the main loop and it worked also.
Let me know how your SLC Loop works out or if you have any more questions.
