THD7A(G) Kenwood Ht and Accessories for sale

Nice and snowy here in SE KS this am, about 6 inches and 30 mph winds! Beautiful Spring day! I have for sale a very nice THD7A(G) with lots of accessories. It comes with a belt clip/soft case, smc-34 hand mike, PG-3j power plug, BC-17 wall wart,charger, a new ems30 fast charger with a pb-39h battery, a bf-11 battery holder, a GPS 2 Bionics GPS puck, several comm cables to interface it to a PC, and a BD-35 Mirage 144/440 amplifier, for mobile use. The amp is rated for 45w and 35w respectively. The only defect I can find is a small crack in the face plate about 1/4 inch long just above the power switch, and it' hard to see! I am asking $425.00 for the package, firm, including shipping in the USA, only please. I would prefer pay pal, but a USPS money order is fine too, would prefer a verifiable street address, no po boxes. I have pictures available on request, but did not want to load up the reflector. Below is the scoop on the specs from Kenwood. Thanks 72 Johnny AC0BQ The Kenwood TH-D7AG Data Communicator is equipped with a built-in TNC (1200/9600) and provides APRS® (Automatic Packet/Position Reporting System). APRS® lets you transmit your coordinates to a friend who can then pinpoint your position using a map on a computer. You can input your latitude and longitude manually or connect a NMEA-0183 compatible GPS (not supplied) for automatic operation (Tx interval .5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20 or 30 mins). Other features include: CTCSS, 200 8-character memories, 10 DTMF memories, dual receive on the same band V+V (VHF only) and backlit keys. RF output is 2.5/2 watts with the supplied PB-38 battery, 5/5 watts with the optional PB-39 battery or 6/5.5W from 13.8 VDC. And the TH-D7AG can employeed as part of Kenwood’s Skycommand System II+ when used with the TS-2000 series and newer Kenwood radio's. The TH-D7AG is only 2.25 x 4.75 x 1.5 inches 12 oz (54x120x36mm 340g).

171 is ready to put the crystal sockets in , but I am
going to wait until I can check both sets at the same time .
Dug the FT-707S out and moved it so now I have a QRP rig
on every desk that has a desktop computer on it .
Still using my SPIDERS out at the farm , so now I am
pretty much set to run QRP CW anywhere I am at.
The pig rig will allow me high power out at the farm . I
will have 40,30 and 20 out there , so I am looking forward to finding
someone with an 80 meter SPIDER they are willing to part with or maybe go with
the next pig rig for 80 meters .

Pig Rig #147 - First QSO just now

Just finished a QSO with KY0O on 7.0307 in Kansas City - he on his HW9. I sent him to the Pig Rig site, he was not familiar with it.
Putting out between 3 and 4 watts he gave me a 599. Thanks to Terry's label, it is a nice looking pig too. Chip AE5KA

From what I could find out, it is called Kight kit not Knight kit and it's a Chinese made QRP CW/SSB transceiver that puts out 4.5 watts. Apparently this website is that of a fellow who is retired from Heathkit and has residence in both China and the U.S. You can order on this website from what I can tell. Read the 'about us' link at the top of their page.

Just found this neat little AM pocket radio circuit by searching <transistor radio circuits 1960>. It's a 1960 Pop Com article. It uses one transistor for both the RF regen amp and relex audio amplification, not uncommon for the day. Uncle Phil

Once upon a time a younger brother received an electric train set for
Christmas. After playing with it for several *hours* the train jumped the track (yet again). Little brother got up and left it there with transformer output shorted (overloaded anyway). Eventually it began to um... smell *funny*. Our mother did *NOT* enjoy it at all - after all she wasn't blind (evil grin). Even though the transformer was not completely destroyed it smelled so bad it was not allowed in the house any more. That was the end of the electric train set. 73, Bill KU8H

Since they add smell to natural gas so
we'll know when there's a gas leak, I assume there's a guy in a
back room somewhere at the resistor factory who's job it is to add
the smell to the smoke that goes into the resistor ??? Do they put smoke/smell into a resistor the same way the cream is put inside the Twinkies ???? Who decided which smell goes with transformers, which smell for resistors & which smell for transistors ???

Thats OK as I still check them as those 1/8th watters are a little small and when in doubt I always check them.
I made a jig a few years ago for just that. Just cris crossed 2 razor blades on each side and plug the meter rite in to it. I'll post a picture. That jig is one of the tools on the work bench. Values........and noted that you like music and electronics. This is not a
surprise and I suspect is quite common. I have often heard it said - given that
parallel of interests - that was why IBM (back when I was there in the
1960s) hired musicians and trained them as system programmers. It was
hinted that they could see the big picture of the whatever programming
system was at hand.
There are lots of bins we can put ourselves in
including: the fact gatherer type and the sees relationships folks. Some used to
call them the "associative" memory quants! For example, "I see
that," and that leads me to something else...or triggers another memory.
