HW8 on the air last evening

Wayne Dillon

Hi Folks,
Mucho fun last evening. I have at last replaced EVERY coax patch cable in the shack so, proceeded to test the new installation and pronounced it good. Included in teh new installation is a position on the equipment shelf for my HW8. It produces enough juice to cause my LDG AT100PROII auto tuner so that was a result. Called "QRL ??" a coouple of time and getting no response, irate or otherwise, proceeded to call a 3X3 CQ. What I was after was to get a response from the Reverse Beacon Network to see who, if anyone, was hearing my peanut whistle. Nothing on the RBN but on my first try a station from NC answered. That'll do, that'll do nicely. Now, just to getthe VHF antennas up somehow (6+2m beams and a 2m vertical for keeping in touch with the locals) and it'll be job done.
By the way, if anyone wants an LDG AT100PROII I have a second one whic is at the moment and will likely be in the future, surplus to requirements. E-mail me off list and we'll haggle...

Major SSS announcement!

John Lonigro

Starting with the April Second Sunday Sprint, there will be a new way to log your scores. Thanks to Diz, W8DIZ, we now have a weblog that is fast, easy, and fun to use. No more sending emails to me. If you are familiar with the Flying Pigs Run for the Bacon, you already know how to enter your data. Before the April SSS, I will fill everyone in on the website you need to access. There will even be room for your soapbox comments.

If anyone hesitated in the past to enter the SSS due to reporting requirements, there's no need to hesitate any longer (other than waiting for the second Sunday of April).

More details will be forthcoming, both at Ozarkcon and just prior to the next SSS. Thanks again to Diz, W8DIZ for putting this all together for us.

72,

John, AA0VE

look up the "Freq Mite" cw readout frequency counter -- I think you'll find that's what it is.

This is a little embarrassing, but I have a kit that looks like it came from 4SQRP, but I can't identify it.  While I can provide a complete parts inventory, here are some basics:

Circuit Board is 1.25 x 1.75 inches

Circuit Board is labeled with 2 lines of text:

     SWL 11/02

     4SQRP 11/13

Major parts include a PIC16C622A 18 pin IC

6A104G contraption that looks like a mica capacitor, but has 6 leads.

4.09 EGJ4 TXT Crystal

KA78L 05AZ IC (5 volt voltage regulator???)

Can anyone suggest what this is so I can get the documentation & put it together?

Thanks

Dave

STONE CASTLE ROOMS FOR OZARKCON

Paul Smith

I just talked to Stonecastle. They still have queen rooms and some theme rooms available for Ozarkcon weekend. Thats the best information I have at this point. I will be on the phone to their group sales people 8 AM Monday. As they are supposed to hold block rooms for us until our registration closes. If you need a room call Stonecastle and ask for 4SQRP room block. they should have space yet.
Thanks

Stonecastle rooms

I am waiting on a return call from the General Manager of Stonecastle. The young lady on the phone did not have the answer. There SHOULD be rooms available in the 4SQRP room block. I will post as soon as i hear.

The Stonecastle is at 3150 Green Mountain Dr.  Any motel on Green Mountain Dr will be just down the street.   Google Branson motels and many will pop up.
The Stonecastle desk will be able to help also,  the owners have several motels close by.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Wow, 138 registrations for OzarkCon. Thank you one and all.....now just wondering if 150 could be obtained in this week?
If you know of someone thinking of attending, they would be joining in with some of the best of the best in QRP knowledge and help with answers for questions for kit building, operating, how to find other QRPers, etc. And don't forget the vendors  of QRP!
The conference may be scheduled for April 1st but it's no joke cuz the QRP light will be shining!
I hope to meet every one personally and thank them for supporting another 4SQRP conference.
