Hello Gang:

Just a quick report that we held the first meeting of the
Four States QRP Group today here in Seneca, Missouri and
we had a blast!  We had 10 QRP'ers in attendance, plus two
spouses and one son.  Not too bad for our first get-together.

The record for the greatest distance traveled goes to Rick
Clem, W0IS who drove here from St. Paul, Minnesota.  Guess
the word is out that Barney's Kitchen serves a pretty good
lunch!

After lunch, we adjourned to the city park for some
on-the-air fun.  Dennis Foster, KK5PY demonstrated a couple
of neat portable antennas and a FT-817 set-up.

Pictures and the full report are on the web at:

Looks like we will do it again next month!

Now that the origin of 4SQRP has been verified then next year at OzarkCon
we will be celebrating 15 years as a leader in the QRP radio world. Amazing!

Should the QRP archives of past years be of interest, then go to qrp-l archives
and should a user name/password prompt show, type in qrp-l   /  qrp-l.

Hi Johnny,

If I wrote a list of the thing that I thought, “not in my lifetime!!”  the list would be too long and show how short sighted I was/am.

A lot of the list would be in the realm of computers and the internet!

We live in a wonderful time with a lot of technology to keep us learning and expanding our horizons!!

You got to love it.

This bring back many memories from my youth (been a while)

My grandfather had stacks of popular electronics as well as popular mechanics

I spent many a night reading thru these from cover to cover, even if they were years old, it was new input to me!!

The article that sticks most in my mind, was the one about cell phones.

They described the exact system that is currently in place today, possibly 20 years before it became today's reality!!

It sounded like science fiction or star wars stuff back then!

I thought to my self as i read the article, this will never happen in my life time!!!

Re: Just downloaded HAMLOG for my iphone 6

Mike Heitmann

HAMLOG is a great app, I use it on an iPad or iPhone for portable operations. When I get home I export the adif log and import that into my main logging program. It works great.

If your rig is an Elecraft, or Yaesu, ICOM or Kenwood you can add a device called "the Piglet" that will add rig control.

It's available forAndroid devices too.

Hey you-all.....,

Read about and then downloaded HAMLOG (73), an app for the iphone. Typed in a couple of logs and the program looks pretty good.
I noticed that it has a feature for downloading in ADIF format too; that may be handy upon return from my Panama City Beach trip;
hopefully I’ll be able to use that to insert the contacts into my LOTW (arrl logbook) and my computer-based N3FJP main log.

A plus of the HAMLOG for the iphone is that is has further features. A few that caught my eye so far/got my attention:
UTC lookup, both local and utc time,
callsign lookup,
grid locator calculator, --------------handy since I usually forget my EM28IX........altitude is also included.....
solar data, and a few others such as MUF..........says today is 14.56,
contest calendar lookup,
4states qrp spots,
