Hi Roy
In recent months on the Elecraft reflector (QTH) a lot of email addresses have been jacked and I get no less than 15 spam or porn emails a day it happens no matter where you are. Ask President Bush and the Secret Service than you won't mind yahoo.

I think you will really like it. I've had one for over a year, and it is probably my favorite due to the SWR indicator. Probably the toughest part is lining up the polyvaricon cap as it is a tight fit to avoid shorting the board. I typically use about 3-4 ft of "counterpoise" just enough to contact the ground a bit from my rollup camping table. I does a great job and I have had lots of contacts using it, though now I have been using jumper dipoles more than the EFHW as it seems most of my QSO's are in the 1000mile range and the signals are a bit stronger with less noise than the sloper or vertical EFHW offer. A bit more work to get the dipole up but I have some great trees in a nearby lakeside park and can get an inverted vee up 40-45 ft with my trusty slingshot and archery reel setup. I also use WA5BDU's matcher with my 40-20m EFHW antennas with good results. A trick with Nick's matcher is to find your wire length at the sites you typically operate and for new sites you can lower the SWR a bit by playing with the length if you have problems finding a match. I use those little spring loaded push buttons you find on camping gear closures and fold wire back upon itself to give some flexibility for lengthening or shortening depending on the site and its impact on the setup. A bit more up and down if you are a purist and like to squeeze a few more milliwatts into the ether! 72, Kelly K4UPG

I ordered the End Fed Half Wave Tuner last week and received it in the mail yesterday (Monday 2/11/2013), see link.....
http://betterqrp.com/ Planning to build it tonight. Lousy weather in the forecast for the next few days so it may be a while before I can give it a try outside. Can anybody share your experiences with this neat little tuner ? I guess now, I can post some pictures along the way of my new little project......... -- *David Martin - K5DCM ---o0o--- Mountain Home, Arkansas* Guns don't kill people, any more than spoons & forks cause obesity. Don,
I do appreciate the list and all the work that you have done to make it exist. I did not mean for my term "some reservations" to be a complaint in any way and I want to quickly say I'm sorry if it came across that way
to you. I have nothing but HAPPINESS from being a member of 4SQRP and I appreciate all the ideas, links, discussions and encouragement the members have been over the years.

Amazing how many people 'focused' on my comments about yahoo, instead of my cudos for 'Four State QRP Group'.

I have moved over. For what it is worth, I doesn't matter which venue is used to host the reflector. It is the people in the group that make it what it is. This is the best e-mail reflector group I have ever belonged to hands down.
I see there are 129 people here already. I hope we can somehow bring all 569 members over. There have been some great threads lately, I haven't jumped in for a while because of plain busy-ness, but really enjoying the discussions, particularly the one about favorite QRP rigs. de KC0PET, Rick

some reservations.....
Roy AC9DN
Yahoo seems to be easy for hackers to get into, so that is
why I am a bit uneasy about changing. Seems that I frequently see that a person's email address book is raided and used for SPAM. I assume it hasn't happened to me as I've never received a complaint about it. I worked a European CW station this week who was proudly running 800 watts. When he asked my power, I told him: "five." He said: "Five hundred?" I told him: "No, five." "Oh," he said, "fifty can make it across the water sometimes but it' not reliable." I didn't bother to tell him that the landlord found my wire antenna running through the garage at my apartment house and removed it. Since then I've been using the shield of the remaining coax and tuning it against 50 turns of wire on a plastic tube on the floor of my media room. Roy AC9DN (was KV8KV, and before that, KEØUQ)

That doesn't mean anybody else has to be disappointed though I'm clearly not the only one. Please...let's not get a big long winded, flame generating, far off topic discussion about the merits or lack thereof with Yahoo, Google, MSN, QTH.NET, Blondes, Redheads, etc. It's not going to change anybody's mind and will only make hard feelings. Good morning Fred,

I think it's just resistance to change, Yahoo groups has had some bad press in the early days regarding groups but I honestly believe the criticisms probably be directed at poorly setting up of the individual group than at Yahoo. Just look at the SKCC, great group and administration, and that is the key word. I sit on several and have had no issue with them, I think once it settles down folks will discover that there are way more benefits than detriments. just my $0.02 worth.
