I found some ceramic screwdrivers on Ebay.  They are the size of jewelers screwdrivers and work perfectly on trimcaps.

October SSS Results

John Lonigro

We had 8 participants in the October Second Sunday Sprint. I'd still like to see the number of participants in double digits, but 8 isn't too bad. This month we had a tie for most points, Chas (W2SH) and Gary (KF7WNS), each with 10. Note that neither of these people are local to the four states area, indicating a high level of dedication and perseverance in constantly snagging a high number of QSOs virtually every month. Certificates will be heading to these two gentlemen shortly.

In the race to have the most SSS QSO's between November, 2015 and December, 2016, there's really no surprise here. Chas (W2SH) is at the top of the heap with 75 QSO points, followed by Gary (KF7WNS) and Johnny (AC0BQ) each with 56 QSO points. Terry (WA0ITP) is a distant 4th place, with 36 points. There are two months remaining in which to collect your QSO points and try to topple Chas. Realistically, Gary and Johnny are the only two in a position to attempt that. Others shouldn't be discouraged. Everyone has a chance to come out on top in the two remaining monthly competitions for this cycle.

Send in your score

John Lonigro

Sorry I forgot to send a final reminder this weekend. It was my 50th high school reunion and I was busy with other "duties". Hope everyone had a good weekend and a good SSS. I heard from one person that propagation was the pits after 7:00. Hope that wasn't the case in general.

Anyway, you know what you have to do next: Send in your score (www.qrpcontest.com/4sqrp). As with the last couple of months, if you participated for at least 15 minutes but were unable to scare up any contacts, I'm asking you to make an entry anyway. This will make 3 months of data collection. From that data, we should be able to see how many people participate in this monthly event. I will tally everything Wednesday morning, report the winner, and send him his certificate.

And the one in Branson boasts being the "world's largest Golden Corral".  My experience over the years is that it is certainly one of the best, MUCH better than some.  They have plenty of selections for a variety of tastes.  On weekdays (not sure about weekends), if you are "senior" and between 1 and 4 p.m. I think, there is an early-bird special which includes drinks which save you several bucks each.  I've not found a better buffet anywhere yet and if anyone wants to chime in here with what they think in Branson is better, let me hear from you.   Most of their food is quite good.  There's always an exception to that no matter where you go.  Unfortunately, I'm not compensated for this information ;-)

Thanks for the input guys. If you took your wife to Golden Corral or a Chinese buffet for her birthday, well, you're a braver man than me!

In the end, she ended up opting for Danna's BBQ and Burgers. She's sure she's found a new favorite BBQ place (even if it isn't Texas BBQ).
The day was made special by a trip to Silver Dollar City where, for your birthday, they give you free treats and discounts at a number of little shops there on the grounds. Good stuff.

Look forward to meeting up with you all in April for Ozarkcon!
