It is snowing, about an inch an hour, with north wind at 20 - 25  thermometer just lost one more degree - 20 now. Travel on I 80 is not a good plan, so stay tucked in, with hot chocolate and marshmallows, popcorn, a good book and a warm crackling fire.

sale here. Changed out the RCA antenna connector to a BNC as I don't
have any RCA adapters in the shack, installed the 40 meter band board,
hooked it up to the 4S Tuner and a PAR End Fed 40-20-10 meter Zepp
that's my 2nd RX antenna for the K3S. After tuning it up on 7.030, I
called a CQ and was immediately answered by Steve, AA5TB. We chatted
for a bit with signals running 449 to 559 in QSB, but no problem
carrying on the QSO. Nice first QSO for my new (to me) toy. At least I
have something to play with until my Bayou Jumper gets here. I'm pretty
sure I got my order in early enough to get one this go-round.

Woody gave me some of the history on this ATS-II and it's been well
traveled even getting to Hawaii on more than one occasion. I'll take it
to Texas and Louisiana sometime in June of next year as long as my
health doesn't go bad on me.

I'm going to tune it to 7.122 in a few minutes and see if anyone can
hear me up there. I'll be running on 9 volts worth of AAA cells at
about 3 watts out.

I think it might be time to mention that from conception to delivery to your mailbox 100% of the people involved with the exception of the U.S. Postal system folks are VOLUNTEERS. That means that they are involved with earning a living, being members of a family unit, getting sick and then getting well. ALL the profit goes to putting on OzarkCon each spring.

It wasn’t an accident that 4Sqrp kits came in 2nd amongst all amateur radio kits to Elecraft. Elecraft, of course, is a for profit commercial company and in fact in that survey 4Sqrp beat out several other for profit kit builders.

So when you purchase a 4Sqrp kit you are without a doubt getting the biggest bang for your kit building buck.
