Greetings,

After only about ten hours checking parts, labeling parts, etc., etc., all the 1/8 watt resistors are soldered in their places -- I hope all the correct places -- on #204: slow progress, but progress nonetheless.

Terry and group,

Yes, I have and use several of the Te-Ne-Ke paddles as built and sold by Dennis Foster (who lives in Mickey Mantel's house in Commerce, OK-----but that's another story:-). They are great keys and as you said, Terry, they should really appeal to the backpacker ops in the hobby. The most recently acquired key I purchased from the estate of Gene N0MQ. It was the larger paddle mounted on a base with a strap to attach it to your leg. My favorite is the mini paddle which I like to use holding it in my left hand and driving it with my right hand.

I have not seen or talked to Dennis in several years. I don't think he is still building and selling the keys. Two other items Dennis built and sold were a swr/pwr meter housed in a plastic enclosure with separate meters for swr and pwr. The other item was a tuner for a random wire antenna housed in a film canister. I have all three items but like Wayne it would take me a while to uncover them:-)

Re: input powered LED battery Voltmeter

Jim Sheldon

Tom and others,
This one looks pretty good too. Actually better, from the standpoint that it can measure current as well.   Apparently from individual comments & reviews I'm seeing on the Hobby King website there aren't many instructions for hookup of this device.  If it measures current and voltage, the voltage leads need to go across the + and - terminals of the battery and the current leads need to go in series with the + lead going to the radio.  Not having one on hand (yet - I ordered a couple), I'll have to wait until my order comes in to find out what, if any documentation comes with them.  I'll report back to the list as soon as I find out if someone else doesn't do it first.
