Well it was 45 F here in South Florida this morning in Port St Lucie according to West Palm Fl TV, WPTV. Yes, it gets cold here also. Fortunately no snow or ice. Dr. Don W4BWS

Jim, N5IB
Managed to work KV6Z with QSB, and heard N0NBD but only a few other faint signals. Propagation wasn't nearly as good as the night or two before, and I turned in before the last 30 minutes.
Yep, we have to remember tune a bit after calling CQ, and to call 3x3 when answering one to give folks time to tune some. At least the Rx bandwidth is WIDE :^)) N5IB

Send in your score
John Lonigro
If you haven't done so already, please send in your score, certainly by tomorrow night. I'll be reporting the results Wednesday morning.
If you wish to report a score of "0", just to show you were trying, be my guest, but I believe participation is good enough to continue the SSS for another year. I may ask you to report zero scores later in the year, if the participation is in question. I'd sure like to see 15-20 people (or more) sending in scores each month. I had the radio on for about 30 minutes before the phone rang last night. I heard Paul N0NBD around 7.122, but I didn't get his complete callsign and his signal was way in the noise. That's about all I heard. I don't have an 80M antenna and am unable to comment on that band's condition. 72, John, AA0VE 4SQRP Contest Coordinator

Ge Guys The BJ SSS was fun!! I know that isn't exactly what it was!! I had a plan to use my KX-3 and work a pile of you guys, well I don't think 4 would make a pile!! I heard a lot more than I got answers back from, So I jumped to 80 and grabbed a couple more!! It was fun, keep those jumpers fired up, makes for quite a pile up around 7.122!!! 72 Johnny AC0BQ

Re: Bayou Jumper Regen setup
Thanks to the input of everyone, I have my BJ regen tweaked in. The
range is approximately 7.000 MHx to 7.138 MHz. Initially the midway point on the dial was about 7.400 MHz and compressing the 19 turns brought it close to 7.050 MHz. Then I found the 0 point was well below the bottom of the band. So a bit more tweaking with the turns and C30 it is where I want it for now. It helps to have a K3 along with a P3 panadapter to figure out where the oscillator is! With just an alligator clip I was receiving several CW stations so this is a hot receiver. My regneration control is at around the 3 O'clock point when oscillation begins but I haven't tried tweaking it per the manual yet. I have a head cold as of this morning and I probably shouldn't have fooled with it at all as I need to look for a white Sharpie to color in a scratch I made. At least now it's personalized. Sigh... 72, Nate -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears this is true." Ham radio, Linux, bikes, and more: http://www.n0nb.us

Okay, I did not see kits on the site, I built a 1340 in 97, mine was pretty hot, I got 5.8 watts out.
