I'd be happy to call a 40m net tonight if there is interest.

If we do it, here's a few things to keep in mind:

1) The net is not a contest and there are no trophies for being the first check-in.
2) If your time is very limited, then sign your call followed by "QNO" and I'll bump you to the top of the list.
3) If you can hear a station that I cannot copy, please offer to QSP (relay). I'll ask "any QSP?" or you can break in anytime with your call and "/QSP" to help out.
Just QSO the station, pass me the info, and then turn it back to net control. Easy peasy.
4) Did I mention that this is not a contest? Say something friendly or funny or interesting. Something more than "RST/SPC/73 and goodbye".
On the other hand, a 15 minute ragchew might bore everyone to tears. You get the idea.

If there is any interest let me know and I'll call the 4SQRP NET at 8:00 p.m CST around 7122 kHz.
Otherwise I'll sit by the fire and read my Bicycling magazine.

" Miss the nets"

Me too Paul. Wayne and I were NCS's for many many years and we just burned out.  Here's a great chance for someone to step up, you would make many members vry happy..  A Cricket net would be fun, as well as the regular 80 and 40 nets, Or whatever you wanted to do. One 80M net would be vy good.  It can nearly all be done with your computer sending buffers.

Thanks for considering.

Re: Broadcast band Interference Filter for Cricket 80A

Here in Augusta Kansas we are about 20 mi from Wichita .
The Cricket picked up a loud CW station (Country and Western )  and the digital band quite handily .
After digging out the old MFJ-971 Tuner all was well .
Not perfect, but the Cowboys and Cowgirls were gone  .

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year

Wow!!! Bill is absolutely correct, Frnks bio is a must read.  Frank's bio is a fabulous Cricket endorsement, please check it out.  He details his thoughts about building and using the Cricket, and the enjoyment that he's had with it.  He also mentions the Bayou Jumper, and the Soup'r Uper.  He has lost his heart to the Cricket, and you will too.

Did you  know that the the Cricket has a green cousin, the Katydid?

Congratulations Frank!  My cricket had QSO with Frank's Dec 20, 2017, he said that was first QSO for his Cricket.  So less than a week.  Took me 2 months to make 10 QSOs.  QRPp WAS on 80M can't be far behind!

WR5U in LA, about 220 miles from here answered my QSO this afternoon at 2100z.  He mentioned having ordered one, so look forward to a 2xCricket QSO in the near future with him.  Am usually not operating after about 2330, which makes 80M a bit of a challenge, but 1W on 80M with a dipole is probably a challenge at any time of day.

Hope to hear more chirps as winter progresses, will be trying for K3Y/? contacts using this little bug(ger), have crystals for lot of frequencies on 80M and now with the 80A they will work.
