BJ for sale on Ebay

Ed Redwine

Since I don't do Ebay, I asked my good friend Larry, AB0AH, to list it on my behalf. My health is failing plus my apartment
complex forbids  any antennas. The BJ tests at 5 watts with a 13v supply.

To follow up on this 'dangling' thread....

Larry sent the unit to me for troubleshoot/repair.  . Here's the timeline-

Thursday, June 7:   Received unit, troubleshot. Ordered part I didn't have on hand.
Sunday, June 10:   Received part, installed. Retest OK.
Monday, June 11:  Functional test OK. Power out 5.3W.  Performed Freq CAL and BFO adjustment. SHIPPED.

Here's the message:  If you're 'on the fence' about purchasing a Hilltopper over concerns about support..... it's available!    Several customers and 4SQRP members have offered troubleshooting advice, and I do the same in this forum.   If that's not sufficient to resolve an issue, I can provide timely troubleshooting/repair service.  For that matter, other experienced builders are welcome to do the same as they see fit.

Yes SSB Qrm was making it very difficult on my end.  Bill toward the end you were up to 579.  Glad I was able to make it into the net to say Hello to everyone.  Tks for being NCS Bill!

SSS Results

John Lonigro

Well, it looks like Carl, WB0CFF, has done it again, coming in first for the month of June with 12 QSO points.  Nick, WB5BKL, Chas, W2SH, and Bill, KV6Z were tied for 2nd place with 10 QSO points each. There were only 8 entries this month, perhaps a sign of the times. Everyone seems to be busy going on vacation or perhaps getting ready for Field Day, which is only 10 days away.  We need to acknowledge a new entry this month.  Bob, K0FHG, from St. Peters, MO (and a member of the St. Louis QRP Society) is new to the SSS database.  Welcome Bob.

For the year, Carl WB0CFF is still in the lead, with 143 QSO points, followed by Bill KV6Z and Chas W2SH, with 119 and 104 points respectively.

Carl will soon be receiving his certificate for coming in first this month.

72,
John, AA0VE
4SQRP Contest Coordinator

The SSS results will be a little late this month.  We've had some illness in the family and my sleep pattern is pretty weird.  I'm going to try to tabulate everything tonight or some time tomorrow. Sorry about the delay.

2018 NJQRP Skeeter Hunt -Official Announcement

Larry Makoski

The NJQRP Club is announcing the 7th Annual " Skeeter Hunt". This year, the event is to be held on Sunday August 19th. It will be a four hour sprint - from 17:00 UTC to 21:00 UTC (1:00 TO 5:00 PM EDT).

QRP stations who wish to be designated as "Skeeters" can get a Skeeter number by requesting one by sending an e-mail to w2lj@arrl.net Please let me know if you intend to operate from a state other than your home state as listed on QRZ. Skeeter numbers will be issued from June 21st (the First Day of Summer) through the day before the event.

Only Skeeter Number requests received by e-mail will be honored. This ensures that I will not miss anyone's requests, especially those requested via social media.(I tend to miss those!),

This year's theme will be "water - the breeding ground for Skeeters!" Operate near any sizable body of water - lake, ocean, creek, river, bayou, stream, brook, pond, etc, for an extra 100 bonus points.

As always the rules for the Skeeter Hunt can be found at http://www.qsl.net/w2lj/

Once June 21st arrives and Skeeter Number requests begin to be honored, the Official Roster can be found at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dac2DytXjH9fCHMeD0-Hzwd-lSKSE0yg3aWnw3NBB3M/edit#gid=1141920406
