At the State of Illinois RACES station we have Dunestar brand filters on both HF rigs. They really reduce adjacent band interference but are not as effective separating CW and Phone on the same band.

Re: Filters for portable ops

Paul-

Band filters are often used on DXpeditions and during multi-transmitter Field Days.  They're a bandpass filter, designed for the band you're operating on. They have a flat response across a given band and steep rejection slopes outside the bnad.  This requires a fairly complex filter, and the commercially-available ones aren't cheap.  For an idea of what they're like, you can go to DXEngineering.com and search for 'bandpass filters'. (No commercial interest- just a satisfied customer.)

Re: FW: Cricket 30 rig

If Julio need a good but older rig for 20 meters,
I  have the MFJ 9020  with the optional keyer and CW filter installed.
I have not used it in about 9 months but I will go over the trimmers and make sure everything is adjusted as per specs in the manual.
Where do I send it?

Tom, please hold off on paying for the kit.  I’m checking to see if the club can legally donate the kit to Julio. It’s past time to go out in today’s mail so it will go out to Jim in the morning. Jim can work out logistics with Julio.
