Re: [DigitalFM] Wednesday's DMR net topic
Paul Smith
I dont have any answers Bert. In the past I have tried to watch streamed stuff from dayton, Pacificon and such but I suspect my cruddy internet or cruddy hotel internet would not support it.

DMR broadcast??
Pod cast??
You tube??
Streaming video??
What's Possible
What's practical
What's doable
I really don't know but I think it would be great to share the experience at least the presentations with others in our group who cannot attend

Re: Wednesday's DMR net topic
Bert, we can put you in the sound booth so you can tap into the headphones circuits for your audio, and pretty sure they are 1/4" jacks. Anywhere else is somewhat distorted from the multiple speakers. If you wish, we can try the setup when you arrive at the Stone Castle.

Good question, Bert!
I would love some Ozarkcon experience! It is a 450
mile drive from here to Zenia/ Hamvention. It is a 600 mile drive from here to
Ozarkcon.

Re: OzarkCon Build-a-Thon
I missed last year due to a death in the family but my wife and I are planning on coming and I would be delighted to help out (this duplicates my posting the Ozardcon web site so don't count on having two 'Bob Groh's!!). I am planning on being there and helping at the Build-a-thon and will bring along a small kit of aid's (like a capacity meter to help read the values on those tiny little caps). Bob Groh, WA2CKY

Re: 80 meter net
Thanks Chas It was nice to have some signals that I could actually copy for a change! My antenna helps the signal strength, at least when the bands are useable. It’s a crossed dipole cut for 40 meters At 65 feet. It has 4 legs of appx 100 feet each. Seems to tune and play well on 80 as well as 40 and 20 meters. 73 Johnny

Re: 40m Net
Ruth A Mumaw
Yes Bill and good morning. As of several weeks ago the new solar cycle has started with a spot at high latitude and reversed polarity was recorded, start of I think it is cycle 25. So the future looks good for better band conditions. My first solar cycle experience was in 1957 when I got my Novice license and thought that DX was a given until it declined after the peak in 1959. What a year that was. I spent the summer of '59 in the northern part of Ontario among the Ojibway people. and the auroras were so bright and beautiful. The down side of that was that radio propagation was wiped out for several weeks in those latitudes, even for NORWESTO the telephone company. In fact there I saw my first Rhombic antennas for their links between stations. Anyway, just saying, it gets better!! Russ K3NLT

No sign of the 40 meter net here in south central WI. So I went down to
7058 and worked WO5S near Austin, TX, 599 both ways!

Re: 80 meter net
w2sh@...
It's good to have a NCS like Johnny who for me is consistently the most readable and strongest 80m signal from the 4S heartland.
At the time of my QNI he was a solid 559, and I was surprised and pleased to receive the same report from him, given that in northern NJ I have about 70 minutes more darkness. I was "Tail End Charlie" on the 4S 40m net and a thus a latecomer to 80m. Closer
to me, K3NLT and K4EQ were 589/599..
When he closed the net ACØBQ was 579.

Charles (aka Chas), W2SH
