Re: Hidden Oscillators Were Found

Hi Jim. The smaller one was in a book on the bookshelf in the Building 1 second floor common area (across from the elevators). Remember in Junior High School when you cut out the insides of a book to hide that transistor radio? - same method. The larger one was placed in a fake rock and placed on the far side of the back parking lot. I covered the wire with pine needles and I'm told that it was stepped on twice. (The act of stepping on it changed the signal strength and that's what gave it away.) Dang it - I wasn't going to give away any hunting secrets! Bill KV6Z

a little portable op today....
neil tanner <wa4chq@...>
Every Sunday, I go to visit my elderly parents over on Gwynns Island here in Mathews, Va. Weather permitting I'll go out on their porch and do a little portable QRP operating. Antennas will be either a wire up in the old oak tree and tuner, crappie pole supporting a wire and tuner or one of my DIY magnetic-loops....today I opted for the the crappie pole and wire. Had one QSO 40m with W1PQO Tom in ME also QRP. The rig was my HB1B running 4 watts and the key is my mini-cootie.

Based on the time required to retrieve the oscillators, I must have done a better job of hiding them this year.

Based on the time required to retrieve the oscillators, I must have done a better job of hiding them this year.
The successful hunters were: John (K0JDL) from Augusta, Kansas Joe (K0NEB) from Lincoln, Nebraska I was able to pry a few of their hunting secrets from these guys but, unfortunately, I am not at liberty to reveal them. Great job guys!!! Enjoy your $50 gift certificates. 73 Bill KV6Z

OzarkCon 2019
davemrtn
It is almost 10:00 at OzarkCon and I would like to share some of my thoughts of the event so far... Different aspects of the event have moved along very smoothly. Stone Castle has spend time and money on repair and improvements and it has not gone unnoticed (by me). Stone Castle improved the sound system in the conference room and Greatly Improved the listen ability of the presentations. NA1MH Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I love my bayou jumper I will never sell it ! I feel it is my most favorite rig ever ! I sort of In a weird sort of way Feel sort of bad I could always just bypass it I think ! Because I did install a souper upper in mine Like I denigrate the idea But !!!!! Band spread fine tuning I love The side tone also great :) the filter though I never hardly use I would say Long live Bayou Jumper But It has gone the way of the great white whale Likely never to be seen again ! And that is a shame ! 73 72 and to be politically correct 88 :)

Hello :) I would keep it if it were mine ! You are correct The bayou jumper is a great rig without the souper upper But it is just a wee bit better with it ! For 20 dollars with shipping You are actually just paying some one else ti take it ! 72

I decided I'm happy with my Bayou Jumper the way it is (nostalgic and fun) and will not be installing it. Price is $20, which includes priority shipping. Go to www.k4eq.net and click on "For Sale" for info on this and an excellent and loaded K1 I'm also selling. Contact info can also be found on the site.
