I bought this to use around the house but due to RFI and lack of AM stations it is not being used at all. Built test and modded by me.

Mods are found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBTVq1zi7gM

I am asking what I paid for it to pass it one to another fellow who will enjoy it.

Re: Cricket 40 side tone not heard

I was using amplified speakers for smart phones, etc. I could not hear the side tone, and- the receive audio was very low. After I saw Charles post.. I tried a pair of ear pods from my iPhone. I could hear the side tone and receive
Audio was much improved. Thank you for the heads up. Does the radio need a audio transformer to work with powered speakers?   73 - Kelly - WB0WQS.

2019 Skeeter Hunt Announcement

Larry Makoski

Signups for the 2019 NJQRP Skeeter Hunt are almost here!

That's right - this Friday is the First Day of Summer 2019 - and you know what that means!

Applications will be accepted for Skeeter Numbers for the 2019 Skeeter Hunt.

For those not familar, this event has become one of the Summertime QRP operating staples. It is a four hour QRP Sprint that will be held on Sunday, August 18th. The idea is to get you and your equipment to the Great Outdoors for some QRP fun. A Skeeter Number is not a requirement, but it adds to the fun, so why not get one for yourself, or your group if you want to get out and operate with a bunch of friends?

All the details can be found on the Official NJQRP Skeeter Hunt Webpage. Some of these e-mail lists get particular about publishing links - so just Google, Bing, or Go Duck Go "NJQRP Skeeter Hunt" and you'll get the link to take you there.

To apply for a Skeeter Hunt Number - send an e-mail, BEGINNING ON FRIDAY, to w2lj@... and you'll get an e-mail reply with your number. If you don't get an acknowledgement, then I didn't get your e-mail - so try again!

40m was Wall to Wall QRM, 80m while somewhat quieter only yielded an occasional dit or dah, sometimes 3-4.

Put out my Call on each Freq. Once only.

I couldn't hear much on 40, but sounded like some weak signals. Nothing on 80. I tried to check in on both but I guess 6 watts just not enough last night.

Lobstercon2019! is coming fast!

Rex Harper

Gangue,

Lobstercon2019! is approaching fast! THREE weeks from this very night, many of us will be sitting in a nice restaurant and swapping stories at the NoHost dinner. So far, I have 36 registered attendees driving in from: ME, NH, MA, CT, VT, OH, MO and ONT! I have another 35 or so Lobsterconners who always sign up at the last minute so it looks like a crowd of about 75 at the latest count. This being the 20th year I've hosted this party, I think there will be a few more unexpected arrivals. Hope to have between 80 & 100 crustacean wranglers this year...

Skip on over to the following link if you might be interested: http://qrpme.com/?p=product&id=L19

Things are off to a tough start. Thunderstorms this morning may delay the installation of antennas.  We will make the best of it.  Hope to hear you on the bands.  We will be using N0SA.
