As Terry indicated, go to the 4SQRP main page at: http://www.4sqrp.com/index.php and select the "Shop Four State QRP Kits" tab on the left which takes you to: http://www.4sqrp.com/kitIndex.php in that page do down to either "K1SWL Hilltopper 40" link which takes you to: http://www.4sqrp.com/hilltopper-40.php or select "K1SWL Hilltopper 20" link in/on that kit index page which takes you to: http://www.4sqrp.com/hilltopper20.php As someone else indicated we only have 40 meter and 20 meter versions right now but there is information in the files section of the Hilltopper (groups.io) subgroup that has the ATMega328P (Arduino chip) INO firmware file and also conversion information for 30 meters. At this time the kit you order comes with a top panel that indicates that it is either a Hilltopper 40 or a Hilltopper 20. The kits are $90 usd plus postage ($7.90 for USPS priority mail within the USA). I only have 6 kits left. They are Hilltopper20's but if someone orders a Hilltopper40 then I remove the 20 meter parts and replace them with 40 meter parts (and top panel). Thank you for your interest and support. If you go to the 4SQRP page at: http://www.4sqrp.com/index.php and select 4 State QRP Kit Builders tab on the left that takes you to: http://www.4sqrp.com/Kit_Helpers.php You will see 7 people willing to build a kit for someone (one of the 7 is in Canada). 4 of them on that list indicate that they are not busy. The 4 that the list show as not busy are: Larry Draughn AE4LD Steve Miller N0SM Dave Raycroft VA3RJ Paul Rose K0EET I just sent a kit to Steve Miller, N0SM today to build for someone and have sent him kits for others in the past. If that is something that interests you then I would suggest that you contact one of them about building a kit for you but you might want to do it quickly as I am down to 6 Hilltopper kits left. I do not know what they charge for their service. Some of them I know do not charge other than postage but that is something you will have to work out with them. They do a great service for the group. Good luck. Jim Pruitt WA7DUY

Hi gang
I am the happy owner of the HT 20 and I would like to buy a already built and working HT 40 radio. So if you have one built and working and wish to purge it from your inventory, let me know and maybe we can work something out. I'd buy the kit but I'll never get it built...my eyes ain't what they used to be. Anyway...just give me a shout. de KB9BVN Brian Murrey

I've used both the polyvaricons and the regular mechanical
variable caps from this non-eBay seller. The mechanical caps are
from Oren Elliott company in USA. The dual 335 pF polyvaricons are
unique to this seller; he had them custom-made and now sells them
exclusively. https://www.mikeselectronicparts.com/product-category/electronic-components/variable-capacitors/ 73, Steve AA7U

Re: 40M Net Chekins
w2sh@...
During these summer and very early autumn Wednesdays my 40m and 80m QNIs have generally only been possible during the final minutes of each net.
This is so because you folks in the 4SQRP heartland need the additional 20 or so minutes of darkness for my five Watts to be heard. Remember that I have about 70 minutes more evening darkness than you guys.
Of course it works oppositely in the mornings, and way back when there were those Thursday morning 40m nets, I had to be the early bird in order to QNI.
Tonight I was pleased to hear Terry's initial call-up at a solid 559. I dropped my call sign and to my surprise, he acknowledged it. Then the house phone rang and my wife brought the portable phone to the basement man cave & shack, chatted with the caller for a minute before passing the phone to me to tell him I'd call back in five minutes. Meanwhile Terry had given me his stuff, all of which I missed, and so he called again to see if I was still alive. I gave him my stuff and turned it back to him to hear his close-down dit-dit, to which I responded likewise.
72,
Charles (aka Chas), W2SH
P.S. Terry what was my RST? Thanks!

SSS Results
John Lonigro
It should have been expected that the number of people who entered the September Second Sunday Sprint (SSSS?) would be down a bit. We still had 8 participants, some of whom were definitely at the Big Brutus Bash (BBB). I consider that a pretty good showing.
The winner for September was Carl WB0CFF, with 20 QSO points. Carl will receive his certificate in the mail shortly. For the year, Chas W2SH is still in the lead with 123 QSO points, but the combination of his being a no-show this month and Carl's FB showing suddenly puts Carl a single point behind Chas (122), definitely within striking range. Nick WB5BKL is hanging in there with 87 total QSO points. John K4BAI, Gary KF7WNS, and Johnny AC0BQ are the others with 49 or more QSO points for the year. They all have a chance for the overall third place certificate. With three months to go, nothing is totally certain, but it looks like Chas and Carl will come in first and second, in an order yet to be determined. Third place is still up for grabs. And, as usual, the last three monthly winners for 2019 could be any member with a license, a radio capable of operating QRP, an antenna, and some time the evening of the second Sunday of the month. Thanks to all who participated and 72, John, AA0VE 4SQRP Contest Coordinator
