Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!  keep it SAFE.

Last evening was the first time I've been able to hear the 4S net, on either 40m or 80m.  BIG surprise.  Johnny's sigs were exceptional here in nw TN.  not quite so good on 80m and they were on 40m but still easy copy.

Johnny,

That was some rough copy ! Although it was quiet your signal wavered between barely readable to non existent and it threw me a curve.

Even so, over a 1,000 miles @ 5w on a piece of wire ?

Thanks for hanging in there for me.

Thanks Jeff - fantastic idea. I have built field strength meters before - and can use the same circuit again - and keep its antenna as a wire "close" to the tuner. I have the QRPGuys EFHW tuner kit - that would supplement the Bayou Jumper and Souper Upper nicely.

73 and Happy Hoidays!

Greetings Rich - KY6R,

Might I suggest you look up field strength meter circuit on google.  The field strength meters is a simple build and will show you are transmitting during key down.

Hope this helps.

I guess since its crystal controlled and I will most likely use it to demo on just one or two nearby frequencies - maybe a circuit for the S meter would be best. Even if the circuit is a tap off the audio amp - something to move an old meter - that would be cool.

I'm a software guy - and while I have done a lot of maker projects - and kit projects - I have never designed a circuit before - so I would appreciate some help.

I have a good condition QRP Classic CL2040 20 and 40 meter transceiver for sale.  I just tested it and it puts out 4 watts. See photos.

I am asking $125.00 + $15.00 shipping.

Any interest please contact me at Djwilcox01 at gmail dot com.

Bayou Jumper for sale

I have had fun using my BJ after I built it a few years ago but now it the time to sell and go on to other kits on the bench.

Mine is a first edition BJ built in a beautiful Hobby Lobby box along with the Soup'r Up'r kit (unbuilt) and a stock of crystals and items to make your own crystals.

Please see the photos.

I am asking $125.00 plus $15.00 for shipping via Priority Mail mid sized box.  PayPal please.  Contact me with any questions.  Yes, it does work as per specs but this is a "no return" transaction. One just sold on eBay for this same price without the extras.  I am 100% on eBay but would like to reduce the extra work and their take from my sale price.  PayPal takes their share and the eBay plus PayPal fees eat up the selling price.  I am considering that.  Thank you for listening to my spiel.

Too many radios, too little energy and interest.  I have other kits waiting to be built and enjoyed.  I want this to be enjoyed more by someone else.

Contact me at djwilcox01 at gmail dot com only.

Thank you.

So are you saying the hum is still present on the dummy load?  Or only
when used on an antenna?

PS:   There is not a separate PTT line as in most radios, the N-75
detects the change in voltage that occurs when the mic PTT switch is
closed.  To key the radio w/o the mic you'll need a 4-circuit TRRS plug
- short the sleeve and first ring together.
