FS: Digital Dial
Paul Goemans
Hello all,
I have for sale my QRP Guys Digital Dial. Built
into a heavy gasketed plastic box, wired with an internal 4xAA cell holder,
power switch, and BNC signal input jack. The box is 4.5” x 3.5” x 2”. Set up as
a frequency counter, but an IF shift could be programmed in if desired. Heck
this could be the foundation for a rig in a box!
I used it with an HW8 I no longer own. Will ship to US address for
$35 check or Paypal.

Sasquatch Stomp
Wayne McFee
Hello the
group,
In response to several requests to relax the 5 Watt
power level in consideration of the current sunspot conditions, we have set the
transmitter power level for the event at 10 Watts or less.
This is also done in response to others who have
pointed out that many QRP radios, such as the uBitx, KX3 and KX2, are capable of
power outputs of ten watts or more and are in many cases operated at those power
levels.
We see nothing wrong with adjusting the power output
up a little bit so as to increase the fun. And, in these low sunspot
times, perhaps provide signals that are more easily readable for those who are
struggling a bit with their CW.
So get on the air for the event on 3 April, and have
fun. That’s what it is all about.
73, and hope to work you in the
Stomp.

Re: Is the 4SQRP Ozark Patrol QSO worthy?
W6BOW
NG3P,
Thanks for the info.
I have a strong feeling that the Ozark Patrol should do just fine paired with a stand alone TX.
Years ago I constructed (scaled to 30 M) the "Universal QRP Transmitter" described in "Solid State Design for the Radio Amateur" by Hayward and DeMaw. I was able to cover the entire 30M band by switching in/out only 3 "rubberized" xtals. With this tx paired with the "Pocket-Size Direct-Conversion Receiver for 40 Meters" (same publication and also scaled to 30M) I enjoyed great success. I gave all away to a local ARC and have been kicking myself ever since for doing so. Info on both rx and tx should be available readily. If you wish I will copy and send.
Good luck with the MMM (3M?!) project.

I haven't tried using my Ozark Patrol with a separate TX because a) I didn't think of that, and b) I don't have a separate TX that isn't also an RX! Maybe I'll try it if I build the Michigan Mighty Mite I've been collecting pieces for.

SSS results for March
John Lonigro
I did remember to tally the scores last night. The March Second Sunday Sprint winner was Chas, W2SH, with 17 points. Nick, WB5BKL, came in second with 11 points. Jeff, N0MII, came in third with 4 QSO points. I guess the third month is the charm, right Jeff? He was shutout in January and February, but his persistence paid off with a couple of QSOs in March. Maybe this will be the first month in a string of successful months for Jeff.
For the year, the leader is also Chas, W2SH, with 33 total points, followed by Nick, WB5BKL, with 25 and Carl, WB0CFF, with 21. However, the year is young and nobody has been mathematically eliminated yet. Speaking of Carl, WB0CFF, as most of those participating in these Sunday sprints already know, he has been battling a serious health problem for several years. Despite the overriding anxiety this illness brings and the side-effect discomforts of his medications, he has bravely participated in almost every one of these events during the past two and a half years, and always with admirable scores. As a matter of fact, you'd have to go back to 2017 to find a SSS in which Carl did not finish first for the year. That was because he didn't enter the contest until November of that year. Alas, he was absent from this week's sprint. Do keep Carl in your thoughts and in your prayers, confident that the courage that sustains him now will continue undiminished in the future. Chas will be receiving his March SSS certificate shortly. 72, John, AA0VE 4SQRP Contest Coordinator

Hi give it a listen especially on CW, usually there is local traffic on 14.286 that interferes on SSB when I go there. That is quite a radio ! According to one place I looked it’s a collectors item, hard to believe it cost $ 21,000 new ? Good luck today, John KK4ITX
