Probably so. At 8:30 most nights we have a family video chat so we can keep up on what everyone is doing since we're spread all over the country. Just a tough time for me. That's why I miss so many of the DMR nets!

Re: New Kit Release Cric-Key

John - KK4ITX

I just love these kits...... just finished the 30m Cricket completing the series..... now I can run 80, 40, 30, 70, 110, 120, 150 meters as soon as David comes up with the 2021 CombinerCric !  (I am confident the FCC will allocate the new Bands soon).

I am trying to just use a SK so I don’t need the Cric-Key..........which of course is why I will get one on order to put together...... and I do marvel at Mr. Cripe’s imagination....... his designs are not only functional, they are pretty to look at, especially if all of the resistors have the tolerance ring pointing in the same direction.

Can you tell that this “Social Distance” thing is getting to me ?

Great group, missed the Net(s) tonight and still working on DMR.

I am please to announce that we have released a new Kit today.
Its the Cric-Key designed by Dave Cripe.

The Cricket series consists of low cost entry level minimalist CW transceivers. This kit is designed to complement 4SQRP's popular CRICKET series of QRP transceivers with a useful and easy-to build keyer circuit.
It was intended to be the build session kit at Ozarkcon, but we all know that story.

You can find it here: http://www.4sqrp.com/crickey.php

So during the trying times, order you one, fire up the iron and build something.

Stay Well

Re: Si5351 audio pops and PLL Lockups

WB9YZU

Thanks Ron!

This is my first Arduino project, and though I was wondering why so many Arduino based radios used IO lines instead of the I2C Bus(it seemed to me they were going through a lot of effort), now I know why!

I haven't gotten to hacking libraries yet.
However, after making the HW changes that Dave suggested (which involved removing the pullups from the encoder/moving them to code), and changing 2 parameters in the code, all seems well. I've been tuning all over the dial with no pops, clicks, or PLL drop outs.

The 2 lines of code I changed were:

attachInterrupt(digitalPinToInterrupt(PinA), Dial, FALLING) ... instead of LOW

and
if (interruptTime - lastInterruptTime > 10) { ... instead of 5

Changing from calling DIAL on a LOW to calling DIAL on a FALLING edge made the largest change.
Increasing interupt debouce was just added insurance ;)
