Re: May Edition of the Ozark QRP Banner
Ditto Johnny! Thanks Keith! I am thoroughly enjoying this issue with all of the great Morse history and all of the different keys! I'm keeping a copy of this one for future reference and because my memory is so lousy from chemo meds I can wait a few months and it will be like reading it for the first time all over again. Ted McElroy amazes me because at his record speed of 75 wpm and using the P A R I S standard he would have been copying 6.25 characters per second! That's just crazy that he could get his brain to do that! The guy must have been a genius! I'm also amazed with Harry Turner doing 35 wpm with a straight key! I still struggle with 20 wpm copy and still miss a few characters. About to start The Thrill of CW article by Dale, K4EQ now. I love Morse code and history so this edition caters to both for me. Thanks for a most enjoyable and very well done newsletter!

John
Its great on receive Make a PAC-12 antenna or the G3ycc whip or get a Qrpguys whip for 20m I have made some great QSOs with the MFJ-1820t 4 ft whip but I am sure its the counterpoise doing all the work RM0L has been verified via qsl on 20m I have had 2 of them and they just never worked the way I expected John VE3IPS Forget these on shorty antennas 40m unless your on cw Sent with a Palm Pilot. Re: Interested in your experiences and tips using the FT-817 and MiracleWhip antenna
Wayne Dillon
Good morning Dr Jim, I tried one with my FT817 many years ago in the UK (I was born and raised in the UK) an was completely disappointed with it. Did a couple of "local" contacts on 20m, added a counterpoise, to the radio ground screw, but not much improvement. My 2c worth for what it's worth, stick with the wire. Be blessed and have a grand day, Wayne - NQ0RP - G0JJQ - G6UIT -- QRP - EFFICIENCY AND SKILL, NOT POWER.

Must have wrong email address. I have never had a tenna dipper for sale let alone own one. Good luck in finding the right person. 73, Rick WK4R

I worked for over 30 years as an electronics technician, and that's the first three-legged transistor I've seen with lettering on the back side of the device! I can see where this situation could be confusing. In my opinion, you have Q2 installed correctly. When you look at transistor datasheets, the manufacturer shows the pinout according to the shape of the device, not the lettering.
