Re: 40 and 80 Meter CW nets

w2sh@...

Although I QNI'd the 40m net (didn't bother to try the 80m net with just a dipole), I have never had such bad QRM from the Spanish-language SSB splatter that went down as far as 7,120.50 kHz.

In the future if the NCS is similarly QRM'd, I would hope he would consider a QSY to a nearby frequency sufficiently lower.

Anyone in the group (US hams) have an unbuilt QRPometer kit they would sell?  Green board if possible?  Please let me know price if you .  Prefer to pay via Paypal.

Reason for wanting an unbuilt one - I do 3D printing and I'd like to be able to really closely refine the dimensions for the 4 corner screw holes and the exact size of the panels themselves.  I need this to help with refining the design of a 3D printed case for the QRPometer that I did earlier with the loan of a completed QRPometer from Larry Hastings, AB0AH.  His had the black PC board and I’d like to use the green board version to make sure the final case design will fit and look good on both versions.

Email me with any details please tow0eb (at) cox dot net so as not to clutter up the reflector

Thanks — W0EB

SSS Results for August

John Lonigro

We had 11 participants in the August SSS, which happens to be the average number of participants for 2020 (so far).  The winner for the month was Carl, WB0CFF with 23 QSO points, followed by Nick, WB5BKL with 15 and Gary, KF7WNS with 14.  It was nice to see that John, AL7JK, way up in Alaska, was able to join in the fun this month, at least a little.  Carl will get his August certificate shortly.

For the year, Chas, W2SH still leads the pack with 118 QSO points. He leads John, K4BAI by a mere 12 points, so the winner for 2020 is still very much up in the air with 4 more contests to go.  I guess Chas has demonstrated once again that nothing beats a good antenna. Sorry to hear your antenna was blown down by Tropical Storm Isiais. I suspect you'll have it put up again by September, if not sooner.

72,
John, AA0VE
4SQRP Contest Coordinator
