You were solid copy, S3, at my campsite in Sunriver, Oregon. I was running 5 Watts into a ladderline fed 82’ doublet, configured as an inverted Vee with the center up 30 feet. Can’t remember what antenna you were using, if you said. However, a good solid contact. Hope to hear you again soon. 73, Wayne NB6M

Re: SAVXO - NS-40 - Magic Box - SS40
WA0ITP
Hi Woody, loong time no hear hope all is well with you. Were you able to resolve this issue? Are you talking abt R46 in the Magic Box? Happy to help if I can.
I am running the above and finally got around to swapping out R46. Replaced the 1 MegOhm resistor with a 100 ohm resistor. I had that on my list of things to do to allow for spotting of the SAVXO in the SS440....but, can someone remind me how that should work now? Practically speaking? I still hear no spot. I have verified that the SAVXO is working properly. It moves the transmit frequency heard in a nearby FT-817ND. I just can't hear any spotting in the SS40. Feel free to answer off list at fghester@... Thanks for any advice offered and 72! / Woody / WD9F

Re: 10 to 50 milliwatt transceivers
Dave Ingram (SK) had the Hamfest Buddy. Rex at QRPme Made and updated Version (with Filtering) that is a no solder kit. His Schematic is on the QRPme Site.
Dave's CQ Article Link should be attached. Now, to make either of these into "Pixie" Style, simply put an Earpiece across the 10K Emitter Resister http://www.cq-amateur-radio.com/flashback/hamfest-buddy.html 72 de Casey KC9IH@...

Re: 10 to 50 milliwatt transceivers
Thanks guys for the feedback. I will try some of those hints and see what transpires. Somewhere in all of my junque I have a Wave Forms microwatt meter that measure from about 1.5 watts down to about a couple microwatts in 4 or 5 ranges, so I can see what I am putting out at different attenuation levels.

Gwen, Oh, yeah! I just ordered one of those little beasties a couple days ago on Etsy. As for a receiver, I have a "Yeahoo" FR-101 which should fill the bill (it's the receiver only twin to the venerable FT-101 transceiver) EuGene

https://www.qsl.net/wb5ude/kc6wdk/transmitter.htmlThis one peaked does 500mw, after you time it measure capacitance and put a fixed cap in it, a simple attenuator would knock it down to your specs.

An easy modification would be to put an attenuator between the output of the transmitter low pass filter and T/R switch. It just takes a few resistors. Don't put it in line with the antenna, though, or you'll lose some signal on receive.

Good nets.
It was nice to catch Terry WA0ITP before the 80 meter net.
FYI here is my “QRP station” that I check in with. The HB-1B with my
N3ZN “ZN QRP” paddle. For a better look at that key, go to n3znkeys.com
and put my call sign in the search box at the top of the page.
