GM everyone,
Well I'm gonna need some help later in the year. I'm going to order a couple of DDS 60 daughter cards (when they're back in stock) but my eyes are just not up to SMD. Even with a illuminated magnifying lamp. Is there anyone here at 4SQRP who can do the assembly for me? there will be 2 to build and I will be in no hurry for them.
Thanks and God Bless de Wayne - KC0PMH

Not bad for a pseudo-special event station to work two other special

Wife and I just finished unloading the car after arriving home tired but happy about 3 p.m.  Lots of fun - gave a bunch the chance to actually get on the air with my KX3 and after we finally figured out that I had mounted the "Grasshopper" vertical too low on it's base and shorted the bugger out, a number of contacts were made.  The optional internal autotuner is so good that it was giving me a 1.0:1 match on all bands.  I could hear lots of stations but they couldn't hear me - DUH!

Just after getting set up, I was hearing Al, HC2SL in Bogota at 599+ a bit but he wasn't hearing me at all.  It was about an hour later when one of the guys (I don't remember who it was but all credit goes to him for seeing that the clamp on the element just above the insulator was contacting the top of the mounting pipe).  Moved it up a couple inches and the bands came alive!  Thanks, you know who you are -

Saturday lunch was brats and burgers and to the gentleman that brought the brats, those were the best brats I've ever eaten short of the street vendors in Augsburg, Germany back in the late 70's

Sunday biscuits & gravy by Joy Dufrain is something not to be missed if you ever get the chance.

I didn't, but someone got pix of Walter and several others trying to extricate one of the kites from "Charley Brown's kite eating tree".  That tree had a super hold on the kite, but they finally got it out.  You have to ask Walter how much damage happened to the kite - LOL.

It was nice to see everyone I'd met before and make some new acquaintances as well.

See Y'all next year,

Great to see you and your wife at Brutus.
I was hoping you would show up for a visit!
I thanks for the history of the get together, seems to grow more every year.
The bands were crappy to say the least, but we flew, hung, and stood up antennas of several varieties around the property.
We had hams running digital, qrp ssb and of course the old stand by CW,
What seemed to be the most fun was the Fellowship, Food, Tailgating, and just hanging out with great company for the weekend!
Hard to beat a deal like that!
Even when the main navigator of our crew

Many of you already have read that Wayne Green, W2NSD, became a silent key last Friday. He was quite active in the very early days of RTTY, editor of CQ magazine when it became a very large and popular publication (not matched before or since), founder of 73 magazine, Byte, and eventually KiloByte, and many more.

You can go to the website:
< http://waynegreen.com/wayne/news.html > to find some interesting information, especially the YouTube radio interview from a couple years ago and the mp3 file on the Ode to Wayne.

I'm sure there will be a lot more material come forth about him and his life.

Besides being a fan of his with CQ, 73, Byte, Kilobyte and more, I was elated when he once sent me $2 in the mail to encourage me and to help pay the postage to keep him on the mailing list for a little experimenters newsletter I was publishing back around 1960. I was honored to meet and talk with him back in 1976 at the Dayton Hamvention, and to have him in the audience when I gave a presentation on the use of microprocessors in ham radio.

At 91 years old, he lived a long and rewarding life, although some would consider it controversial at times.
