Wayne Dillon
Good morning Dennis and welcome to 4SQRP. We hang out on some nets on a Wednesday evening on both 40 and 80 so I hope that suites (3.564 and 7.122 both +/- QRM) and there's generally someone on most of the time some time of the day or evening. I look forward to working you Dennis.

The R4020 is a FB radio, worked a guy last evening with one. So you don't build, so what? we're here to exchange info and ideas but we're mainly here to have fun and get on the air. They're a grand bunch of folks here, I'm sure you'll get a few more welcomes as the day progresses.
Don't forget to keep and eye on the web page for additional info, also QRPSpots will keep you abreast of who's on the air. Again welcome, we're glad to have you here - enjoy! 72/3 es God Bless de Wayne - KC0PMH

Re: Another $S-QRP station is born

Slightly off this topic but-
Those "carriers" that you hear just slightly north of 7.040 are WSPR stations, they transmit for 1:55 minutes on the even minute and then receive for X multiples of 2 minutes. It's too bad they had to settle that close to 7.040, which is why I have gone back to 7.030. Nothing against WSPR though, I really get into it every now and then, I'm constantly amazed that 100mw can make it into Europe and South America. I think the WSPR community should move in my opinion further up the band.Fred WA8PGE pigrig 46

SS-40 face plate
Does anyone have a print out for the SS-40 face plate. The web site for same at the 4SQRP group still says "under construction". I just finished drilling the holes in the Ten-Tec case (per the printed diagram from the site and the board installs perfectly) and it looks so nice.... just want a good looking face plate as this radio kit was a neat build and will get lots of use just listening when I am sitting around doing other stuff and not able to transmit. Also, like to "impress" my QRO friends that this QRP stuff is legit. They are starting to take interest after seeing the fun we QRPers are having with this aspect of the the hobby. Thanks. Dave K8WPE

Re: Wed Nite Nets
Jerry Haigwood <jerry@...>
Hi Terry, I listen to the net on my Softrock Ensemble II RX SDR. It was interesting to see everyone’s signal. I had you at 3864.312KHz Although I am not sure my calibration is right on. I do believe it to be close. Some people were zero beat with you and some were not. Some were as far as 350Hz off of your signal. In fact, I had to open up the bandwidth to hear some of the people. This was the first time I listened to a net using an SDR and it was a neat experience. Jerry W5JH "building something without experimenting is just solder practice"
