Re: Latest SSS totals and winner

W0IIT

Hi All,

I am replying on line because Walter asked that I show Terry as the winner and thereby the user of the club call, WQ5RP in Saturday's sprint. I do keep a log of how the club call is being used. Just remember when you work Terry WA0ITP in the sprint to be sure to log him as WQ5RP or things could become confusing in your log.

Speaking about the club call. I have signed up to use it this coming season on the Geratol net. I will be attempting to be the first qrp club call to work all states on 80 meters using SSB. This usage of the call should not ever interfere with other uses of the call. The Geratol net meets every night starting at about 8p.m. until there are no checkins. The only conflict would be if someone other than myself tried using the call on the net. This will be a BIG challenge but a recent trial run with some of the members of the net showed the K2 @ 10 watts SSB did a pretty decent job. This net, if it is like it was back when I earned #1000, is no joke. No giving away the signal report, or part of a call sign, etc. in the process of the exchange or like many nets counting multiple states during one contact. In other words you can't say this is N5??? at the confluence of the four states of OK,KS,MO,AR----you gotta be in one of them.

Remember, if you desire to use the club call simply get in contact with me and you can use the call on a 1st come basis. Your application must be for a event, in other words you could not apply to use the call for the coming contest season but would have to have a particular contest in your application i.e. CW Sweepstakes or Phone Sweepstakes, etc..

Lets get that club call out there on the air and get it as well known as the 4StateQRP Group!!!!!!

Pardon the bandwidth....

I have a 500 Hz Collins CW filter for the FT-817 (and for some other radios, too).  The filter works perfectly, and I am only selling because it has been replaced with the W4RT dual filter unit.  $105 shipped in the US or Canada.  Paypal preferred other methods OK.  I thought I would offer it here first.
