Several people have mentioned uploading files, photos, etc. Initially this was disabled until the new group stabilized a bit. Uploading by members has now been enabled.

At this time please do not upload materials that you may have placed on the old Yahoo site. The old message archives as well as files and photos are supposed to transfer but due to the number of groups moving to Groups.io and the connection limitations that Yahoo has in place those things may take up to a week to be moved we are being told. Please be patient!

Regards,

Tim and Gary, the 4SQRP Moderators.

Re: Files still coming?

Because of the various Yahoo issues Groups.io is telling group owners that they are really busy with transfers. Added to that is Yahoo is limiting the number of times a unique IP address may connect to their system each day. Groups.io is transferring users as their top priority, usually within 1 day, and has said that old messages, files, and photos may take up to a week or so.

SSS is tomorrow

Don't forget! The Second Sunday Sprint is tomorrow (December 10th) from 7:00-9:00 pm CST.  (Monday, 0100-0300Z).  This is the last SSS of 2017.  I will tally the results and report them by Wednesday at the latest.  If possible, please send in your score by Monday night.  I'm pretty busy the rest of the year and would like to get everything tallied and the certificates made on Tuesday if possible.  Thanks.

And, of course, the slate is wiped clean starting in January.  I realize the expression "slate is wiped clean" is a tad archaic, but I think it sounds better than "the white board has been erased" (hi).

Thanks and 72,

John, AA0VE

The owners need to go thru the groups setting to make sure photo from users are allowed, I vaguely remember that it is turned off by default.

I can’t find any permission setting on my profile page?

OT: FS Ultra Pico-Keyer with V2.1 Firmware

Jim Sheldon

I have an assembled & tested Ham Gadgets Ultra Pico-Keyer that I bought in January of this year, planning on using it with my portable rigs. Since all the rigs I have already have keyers built in, it's really surplus to my needs and I'd like to pass it on to someone who can use it.

The manual is available for download on Ham Gadgets website (www.hamgadgets.com).

The kit is available there for $39.95 plus shipping and it does have newer firmware than the one I'm offering but this one is available for $25 shipped anywhere in the U.S.

If interested, please contact me off list - @W0EB and if you want it, the first "I'll take it" (by date/time on the email) will get the first chance at it. I'd prefer payment by PayPal but if you're the first person wanting it and don't do PayPal, that's definitely negotiable.

The biggest thanks should go to the people at Groups.io. They really have their act together on these transitions.

There are a few questions that needed to be answered and you have to provide a few permissions for them in the old group. They send a nice write up of what will occur and what we should see as it happens. We had a couple of questions and those were promptly answered.

Honestly, I half expected the move would be somewhat of a nightmare but I can say I was very pleasantly disappointed.

Re: Bayou Jumper ordered

Hi David,  Thanks for the tip.  I didn't even think about that as my plan was to keep the first Bayou Jumper that I built, the way it would of been for an SOE Agent back in the war.  The new version (the one I just ordered) I want to have the Bells and Whistles......Lol.  Plus....never hurts to have several rigs to chose from.  Lol.  I have the week of Christmas off for vacation and plan to build a couple of rigs during that time off work.  I really enjoy every rig that I have however, the Bayou Jumper is the one I really enjoyed the most this last year of 2017!  Hope we can get a chance to work each other sometime soon.

Thanks Again David,

When the SoftRock40 group was moved, everything was moved overnight. Yahoo has been having problems accessing their Group data, that will affect the group transfer also.

If the files are not there it's because Yahoo has been having problems allowing access to photos and files. If that is the case then groups.io can try that transfer again.

I case all that fails I have backups of all the files and photos.
