Is anyone here suggesting that the 7122 Net is a QRP group  ?

Gm AJ, Terry And the group.
I have been thunking about this since it was a thread a few months ago.
It kinda went dormant!
It would be great if someone would be the volunteer "club wear" cooridinator.
The company that does the NAQACC stuff has really cool hats, and may have other gear? I think all we need to do is contact the company and settle on a LOGO?
I am good for a Hat or two and a Polo!
OK guys, who is up for the task ?

If you'd like AJ,  check them out as to products, prices, how to pay, etc and get back to us.  I'd be in for a coupla polo syle shirts, hats, and T shirts.  We'd look good in a group picture at OzarkCon or Brutus.   Thanks much.

I love the "QRPometer" that I just finished up about a week ago.

I really don't "need" anything else right now, but I enjoyed the QRPometer assembly so much, I'm thinking I just might have to do something else soon. The Cyclone 40 looks like it might be a fun one to build . . .

Tnx,

You deserve the exposure ;)

I am slowly migrating to QRP. I have just acquired a FLEX-1500 and a LDG Z-11-Pro-II auto tuner. Not quite the real QRP spirit, but I want to operate mostly in low-power digital mode a lot, hence the FLEX.

I'm particularly tempted by K8IQYs "Magic Box" because I plan to eventually operate with a separate SDR receiver - the QS1R - and its dedicated receive-only antenna to pluck weak signals out of the mayhem on some HF bands ;)

Will order The Magic Box" when I cant do without it anymore! That could be soon . . .

Hello Jim and Terry,

Thanks for your quick and competent replay. So I will go this way and have a reason to get some solder smoking and putting the magic box together. I have understood the mechanism and will look at the schematics of the Ultimate 3. There is one line coming from the Atmel which triggers the pa. Perhaps I can use this signal. Have to ask Hans.

I have troubles getting into my Yahoo groups since several weeks. Even if I want to reset my password, they will not accept a password of any kind. So could you please send the schematic via email? Thanks for your kindness

Spaceweather.com is reporting a big M class flare and a geomagnetic storm as well! 40 is so long even now that the West coast stations are still running S7-9 at 10 a.m. Even in-state CW signals on 160 and 80 were so weak as to be unreadable at 5 this morning while Shin, JA1NUT, was 20 over 9 for a while on 40!

Last weekend during the ARRL DX contest 40-10 meters stayed wide open through most of the 48 hour operating period. Haven't seen condx like this for qyite a few years!

Hello,
Greetings Hajo,

I am not an engineer, so bare with me:
No problem.

Currently I am experimenting a lot with Wspr using the Ultimate 3 from
Hans Summers.(See activities on my blog.) I only transmit in a time
frame of 10 minutes once and have the other 8 minutes free.
What causes the transmitter to come on the air? Is the signal that makes that happen available to the outside of the Ultimate 3?

So I
wanted to listen and report to wspr with another receiver, but I have
only one antenna.
The MagicBox could switch the antenna for you, so to speak so that when the Ultimate 3 isn't using the antenna, the receiver can be.

So I remembered a kit, which is still unsoldered: the magic box. My
question: Is there a way that I can connect the tx and the Rx so that
the Rx is automatically muted when the wspr tx starts to make it's
transmission.
Yes, that's exactly what it does, but it needs a signal from the transmitter to tell the MagicBox that the WSPR transmission is going to happen.

The maximum output is 200 mW, but normally I use between
10 -100 mW.
No problem there.

So I am looking for some sort of HF sniffer which triggers the magic
box to do its work.
No, you need the signal from the Ultimate 3 that causes it to transmit and use that signal to key the MagicBox and cause it to go from receive mode to transmit mode. The MagicBox keys using a voltage being grounded, like closing a key.

Any ideas which can be performed by an amateur?
See above.
