Sam, I like the mail box idea for housing your antenna tuner. Reminds me of those air mail boxes set on a high pole. your's is a much better idea! I am waiting on a T-106 to build and experiment with my first end fed.    73, Shawn KF7YFF.

GardnerGuy,

So, What Is Your Call Sign,  and times of "CQ"
that I might Better Listen on 7122.5
Is this a plain "CQ" or something special like "CQ HW8"  ?

I have a birdy from 40M around 7120.  Do you hear this same birdy ?

Is this a crystal frequency ?

There is the Sunrise CW Net at 7123 8:00AM , Memphis, TN, Time, lasts for 1.5 hours.
So, you may sound like 500 Hz on the unwanted image Lower Sideband.  That would be QRM.

Glen Ellis, KK4LPG

May SSS Results

John Lonigro

OM's:

The bands must be pretty bad these days. We only got 5 participants, with Bill (KV6Z) leading the way. He pulled in 5 QSOs. He's also leading the pack at this point, with only 4 more sprints to go before we decide who gets to use the club callsign during the 4x4 contest in October. He is 11 QSOs ahead of Terry (WA0ITP), who has been uncharacteristically silent the last couple of months.

I'm enclosing the May and cumulative sprint results. FYI, nobody claimed the Mother's Day bonus.

Note that I am still mulling over what the rules for the 4x4 contest should be this year. I don't want bonus points to determine the winner, but I'd like them to certainly help. So far, I've received one suggestion about changing the rules and more are always welcome. Other than the bonus points and the length of the contest (4 hours vs 2 hours), the rules will be very similar (if not identical) to these Second Sunday Sprint rules. Don't expect a huge learning curve. I expect there will be some form of bonus points for using a 4SQRP rig, but haven't hashed out the details yet.

Here's hoping the bands straighten up in time for the next SSS, scheduled for June 8th. Circle your calendars!

John AA0VE
