Hello all!
Every year the Midwest Home brewers and QRP group have an operating event in June that we call a 'Lark in the Park'
we have lunch at the pizza place in Ashland (our normal meeting place) and then we all go out to the neat park just East on down town Ashland and set up a mini-field day. Around noon central time there will be a gang of QRP nuts tossing wire into the trees and setting up for our fun little event. There will be QRP stations on nearly every band running either CW, SSB or even PSK.
Please Join in the fun and listen for us on the standard QRP frequencies. We will reward all contacts with HBQRP QSL card :)
Hope to hear you there.

Re: 80M Cw Net Chekins [1 Attachment]

Yeah, I wasn't expecting great things on 80 last evening, the noise was horrendous in my SE corner of Kansas but the experiment worked, at least from my perspective! Antenna was a "temporary" W3EDP about 20 feet AGL with a 17 foot "counterpoise (which isn't really, it's part of the feeder) running East-West. I was using the KX3 with about 3 watts out, tuning was achieved with the on-board auto tuner into an outboard home-brew 4:1 balun. Got through to Terry so it works for me.
O copied some of Bert's qso but it was in and out all the time. Terry was, as usual, a good signal when I could copy through the noise. As he said, "welcome to 80m in the summer". FB Terry and thanks for being there.
Johnny, thanks for doing 40m NCS much appreciated.

Ge Guys
40M was pretty tough tonight!
I worked most of the net on My NVIS and the SS 40 tx-rx.
I wasn't sure I was hearing as well as I should be, so near the end I went to the KX3.
Guess what, It wasn't my radio it was the band. the Kx3 didn't kick things up very much at all!
Now what does this say for Jim's fine design?
I have a thunder storm about 100 miles west, headed out way and it was kicking in quite well.

Here are the results, send me any corrections direct please.
Thanks to all that made it, and I wish any who tried better luck next week.

The 4SQRP Group will reach 1000 members on March 13, 2015.

SSS Results for June

John Lonigro

Enclosed are the current standings for the 2013-14 Second Sunday Sprint. Bill, KV6Z, still has the lead, followed by Terry, WA0ITP, and Gary, KF7WNS. According to my calendar, there are 3 more Sprints remaining before a winner is declared. Bill and Terry are pulling away from the rest of the pack, but there's still time to perhaps influence the results. Even if you are no longer in the running (like me), just participating in the contest gives others a chance to work you, which may be enough to alter the standings. Every QSO counts!

As a reminder, please include at least your callsign and first name when you send in your score. With the help of the 4SQRP website and QRZ.COM, I can look up the rest of it. But it would be a lot easier on me if you include your QTH and 4SQRP number.

Until next month, 72

Re: What tools do you recommend for the small components ?

Dale Putnam

That would be solving three issues with one tool..
no magnetism.. no emp..(sparks).. and no conductivity...

a win-win-win..

one word of caution tho.... be very very light with the flux.. that is a killer of ic smt.

Have a great day,

That's funny as last week I ordered some SMT 0805 component kits (caps and resistors) and a few flux pens to start playing with SMT.
