I've got Three (3) answers for you: 1) I tried to mimic the rules used in the 2013 4x4 sprint, which included SPC in the exchange. 2) I think a lot of people would like to know it if they had a QSO with someone across the country, as opposed to across the state (without bothering to look it up in QRZ.com). 3) If you are working toward WAS-QRP, it might be very important to you (again, without having to stop and look it up in QRZ). No idea about the meaning of life. Sorry, you'll have to find out for yourself. Sorry about the 5 Watt limit. Maybe we need a sister club: 4SQRO. 72, John AA0VE

4X4 Sprint
Hi John, I'm looking forward to the 4X4 sprint, but not real excited about the prospects of tossing a 5W signal from Oregon to mid west on any band in the middle of the day. I'm praying for an opening on 15M. I'm trying to figure a way to get some west coast participation. And now a question, for which I doubt there is an answer, why do we send our "SPC" when it is not used as a multiplier? And another question, what is the meaning of life?-FORGET THAT ONE- I think I have too much time on my hands! 73/72, hope to meet you in the sprint. Gary/KF7WNS

Re: Tonight's 40m Nets
Sam Neal
Hello,
Wasn't able to check into the early net - somebody forgot to attach the antenna to the QRP transmitter! I did work W5XE in El Paso tonight at 3 Watts on 7122. On the second net, I was running A measured 500 milliWatts output. I tried the W1AW/5 New Mexico pileup, but just not enough steam. Thanks to all of you who indulge me as I play with QRPp ( one Watt or less output ). When we get a good cold crystal clear night ( no QRN ) I'm gonna try for some DX on the low end of the band. I always look forward to Wednesday nights for these nets. 72, Sam Neal N5ZF ( I looked - Its still N5AF _______________________________________________ Good Job Wayne! Tonight's 40m Nets
Wayne Dillon
Good evening all, Well another tremendous nite on the nets! I believe clean sweeps go to Randy and Chas. Predictably Chas's signal came up on the late net but I must've ticked off the propagation princess because the path between Raddy and I went south on the late net. Ho hummmm So, here are tonight's sterling participants: Not too shabby at all folks, well done to all. 72/3 es God Bless de Wayne - KC0PMH See y'all next week! http://www.qsl.net/kc0pmh/ Under construction but please visit anyway.

Saturday's 4SQRP gathering & antenna party
David Bixler <qrp@...>
Hi Folks:
Looks like this upcoming Saturday's antenna removal gathering at Eileen's place is a "go". The weather forecast looks favorable for taking down Bob's beam and antennas. It sounds like Eileen is planning a lunch (cookout maybe?) but we need a RSVP from you to know how many are coming. Please reply to me <qrp@netins.net> and Eileen <kl-7ah@groveemail.com> if you can make it. Let me know if you need directions to Eileen's place northeast of Grove and I'll send some directions. I would suggest work clothes and if you have a some wrenches or hand tools, bring them along to help disassemble the beam. Next month, we will get back to the normal 3rd Saturday lunches. 73, Dave W0CH
