Tonight's 40m nets

I got to echo Terry's sentiments AARRRRRRRRRGH I had S9 noise but, a whole bunch made it in including first timer Chris (W0EP) running his HW-8. Well done sir and a hearty welcome to the 4SQRP Nets, we're glad to have you along for the ride. Maybe I'll give my ole' HW-8 an airing next week... you have been warned!
Even Randy was only a 579  tonight, perhaps the prop princess requires a couple of virgin technicians sacrificed on the alter of the bug???
Here are the participants, thank you one and all. It would have been easy to give up but you stuck to it, excellent job (if QRP was easy, they'd all be doing it, right?)

Condition were really poor here tonight, S7 to 10 over noise mainly.  The RBN had me at 12 snr near KC and also in OH, but I couldn't conjure up any calls from those areas.

Making it in were Jim, N0JL from Chillicothee, IA, and ever faithful WA9PWP, Paul from Stoughton, WI.  Thanx Paul and Jim, appreciate it and hope your ears are still working.

Hope we have better condx next week.

Greetings, all...I'm having a really difficult time contacting other qrp operators...I am getting into my regular HF SSB nets with no problem, but there are not many qrp operators on those.

Do we have a regional HF qrp SSB net...my best results have been on 17M.  I now have no significant fine motor right hand function (Army injury, not stroke) so my CW sucks...I've had some good 17M SSB contacts on a "listen and luck out" basis, but I really like to have a net or sked.

It appears that 18.130 is an accepted qrp calling freq.  Maybe people could check in there at at a designated time and QSY if we set up a sked/net.

If there is a regional qrp SSB net or meeting freq, please let me know...73, Doc

WOW  !! WOTA (Whales on the Air) was huge success ! I was able to check into the Sunrise Net and then worked Walter (K5EST) and Bruce (AA5CO) on 7122. Then, without floundering, I worked Michigan and Illinois on 20m. I'll save the biggest surprise of all for a possible Banner write-up. Thanks to all for making this an unforgettable QRP experience - one that will be concretely embedded in my memory forever. (Nothing fishy about that!)

Twin Bridges State Park is located at the north end of Grand Lake, where
the Neosho and Spring rivers join. The park is located where Highway
137 joins Highway 60.

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.8038236,-94.7540703,14z

Echo Hollow on the east side of Hwy 137 is a pretty good spot to camp,
it's high up on a bluff over Spring River. The sites have flat concrete
pads and plenty of trees. The west side of the park is pretty good, too.
