Thanks gang the band here is terrible for me it may be the vertical antenna. Thanks to Steve WB0QQT and Wayne KC0PMH for check ins. Wayne I had to switch to the 80m inverted L and turn the pre amp on just to get at about 229 to 239 signal and switch back to the vertical to transmit; on the vertical you were unreadable. Thank you again God Bless and have a great week...

Last Night's Sprint

John Lonigro

From preliminary reports, last night's sprint was pretty dismal. If you haven't sent in your score yet, please do so soon. This month it will take longer to tabulate the soapbox than the scores.

I'm going to shorten the reporting window. I have lots of things planned for most Wednesdays and will soon start school again on Tuesday nights. Please send in your score by midnight tonight (Monday) and I'll try to get the results out the door by tomorrow (Tuesday). Besides, I'm sure the suspense is killing you.

Thanks and 72,

John AA0VE

Good Evening All,

Never know what you're going to get.  Tonight 40 was as quiet as I've heard in a long time.  No QRN,  just occasional static crashes (your thunderboomers).  I worked K5TEB - WA0ITP - WB6HVH - and a non-member QRP in CT on 20M (he was 579/4W, hope he joins 4sQRP).  Anyhow easiest night for hearing you guys in the mid-west and you couldn't be on cuz of lightning...Life is like a box of chocolates.

God Bless and see you all next month.

Very heavy rains that have reached more than 400 mm rainfall in 24 hours
over Baracoa, the eastern city of Guantanamo province required the
activation of the GUANTANAMO FRC PROVINCIAL EMERGENCY NET , PRIMARY
FREQUENCY ON 40 METERS 7115 KHZ all day Friday.
Rain continues to fall, and the net will remain active all day long today.
We appreciate that the 7115 kHz frequency be kept clear for the emergency
traffic flowing from Baracoa and Maisi to the Guantanamo provincial capital
via the amateur radio provincial emergency net. Traffic is also been handled
locally on two meters...
