Growing the Group

WA0ITP

Our membership growth has flatlined at 875, and I'd like to see us begin to grow again. Direct contacts seem to be the most effective way to grow the membership, and using email is the easiest way to make that contact.

We need a member to step forward and volunteer to make those contacts and help us grow.  Many of us can supply call signs of the hams we've worked so that the Membership Chairman has a supply of names from which to work. QRZ.com has nearly all the email addresses.  A sample introductory letter is attached, and just a few emails a week will have a large effect on the total membership, which is listed on this page http://www.4sqrp.com/w25.php

KV6Z estimates that
we will reach 1000 members by March 13, 2015. (mssg 5755)  We're not going to make that without some effort, but with a Membership Chairman we should beat that easily.  It's only 25 more members, and all is takes is sending a few emails.

Is anyone interested in this low stress but important position? Pse let me know off list
by sending an note to  wa0itp at wa0itp.com

Thanks vy much.

I didn't notice anything amiss when I opened my email.  I normally use Linux.  I opened the attachment with gedit and it looked OK.  Then I opened it with my wife's Windows computer and it looked ok with Wordpad, but not with Textpad, which is probably what you and Wayne are observing.  So I did a conversion and the enclosed file now works fine with notepad.  I'll have to remember to do the conversion before I send out the results.  If I were smart, I'd write it down before I forget.

Terry,

An often overlooked SSS rule is that if you can't read the file you must forfeit 1 QSO.

Actually, I can't read it either. Looks like Notepad, but my notepad won't read it.
Excel gets close but columns aren't lined up all that well.

Get out your crying towels. The December SSS was definitely a bust.
The only happy camper seemed to be Gary (KF7WNS) in Bandon, OR.
Regardless, I'm enclosing the dismal results for December. As predicted,
it took longer to tabulate the soapbox than to add up the scores. One
item of note: With 2 QSOs, Terry (WA0ITP) was able to overtake Bill
(KV6Z), at least temporarily. This might turn out to be quite a horserace!

Let's all say goodbye to 2014 and hope for better conditions in the new
year.

Thanks gang the band here is terrible for me it may be the vertical antenna. Thanks to Steve WB0QQT and Wayne KC0PMH for check ins. Wayne I had to switch to the 80m inverted L and turn the pre amp on just to get at about 229 to 239 signal and switch back to the vertical to transmit; on the vertical you were unreadable. Thank you again God Bless and have a great week...

for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers (New!). A Certificate for top score in the
GAIN antenna category.

you make your contacts.

If you are not already a member of NAQCC... membership is FREE! Now is your
