Re: Semi QRP related - software

Don't run Linux because I am not sure what of my radio software will run on it.  I have an old SP laptop that I use exclusively for radio. My software includes:  FireFox, Echolink, Digipan, CQ100, QSO TV, Morse Machine, Winlog 32, and a couple of apps on some Firefox amateur radio sites.  I am not "programming  literate" and have no idea what it would take or what the implications would be for putting Linux on the laptop.

Good luck with your project...73, Doc K5OSA

That's what I would like to do.  First need to brush up on my programming skills and do some research on available libraries.  That's the real reason for this post.

Anyone know of libraries and or algorithms related to digital filters, cw decoding etc that might help?  I tend to code mostly in C so that would be my main focus but am reasonably fluent in a jillion other languages so could consider most any.

The last cw decoder that I wrote was in Apple II assembler many long years ago.  Too bad I didn't save the code but the teletype I was using as a printer at the time was awfully slow for a long listing

Monday Sideband Net

Jeremy Utley

The Four State QRP Sideband net meets every Monday night (my work
schedule permitting, of course). Tonite, we will again try a net at
6:30pm and again at 7:30pm CT.

NCS is WQ5RP, with Jeremy, NQ0M as control operator from Beautiful
downtown Iola, KS.

Frequency is on our around 7.285 MHz, QSYing as needed to avoid
traffic. Check the QRPSpots site for the actual frequency at net
time!

I apologize to everyone for missing the last couple of weeks! I've
had some unluckiness with work that's caused me to get stuck a little
late the last couple of Monday nights.

Hope to hear all of you tonite!

Besides Fldigi, SO2SDR by Tor N4OGW tackles some of this. I used the
program for logging and then bought a softrock to play with the SDR
aspect but it wound up in a drawer and not used. See:

https://github.com/n4ogw/so2sdr

It is written using Qt and hence C++.

For Linux the most common sound interface will be ALSA. Fldigi does use
some portability libraries to achieve cross-platform capability.

Great night tonight thanks gents. 80 was in good shape tonight!   Coupla first timers tonite.  NK8O is a first timer but not new to me.  I met Charles when he was working in Ottumwa, and we both operated in a Skeeter hunt, meeting by accident in a local park, thanks Charles.   WH6LE has checked in before,  and we worked in the same Skeeter hunt where I met Charles. btw notice that he's in NC not HI, shucks.. NIce to work K5TF again too. This is his first time for the net, but I worked him in 2012 while I was /P at my daughters house in Norwalk, IA.  Small world and a good one amongst hams.  The regulars deserve a pat on the back too, without them there wouldn't be a net.  Again, very nice net tonight and thanks to all.  Tonites log is:
