Terry...............I noticed the same thing. I got on and NO, absolutely nothing, on 20 meters.....
must be the arctic wind? or you and I are eating too many beans, hi.

I finally heard a station on 40 meters a few minutes ago. Yea, I too thought Murphy had visited me!!!

So, time to clean the shack and do other activities.

My current project is to put together the P3 and add it to my K3 station............plus........I'm building a new desk/shelf combo:
layer one is for the keyboard and paddle (a shelf at about 26 inches above the floor.....for typing, keying layer...)
layer two is for the SteppIR control box, the K3, P3, and power supply (at typical desk high.....29 inches),
layer three is a shelf above the rig that is set to hold two 19 inch monitors, the left for running the station, with N1MM, etc and the right to provide for a full screen waterfall (easier on the ole eyes than the P3 screen).

Hope to have this all running in couple of weeks.

Is all HF dead today?

I may have an antenna problem, we had lots of wind and the temp plummeted last night. It was either an Alberta Clipper, Manitoba Mauler or a Saskatchewan Screamer :o)

I think this one was all of the above. I'm not sure, but this has to be
close to the highest barometer reading I've ever seen topping 31" by a
good margin around the area this morning.

Re: The Pixie of KV6Z

Curt

I worked NJ and KY with a 200mW Tiny Tornado awhile ago, and more recently AL with a 300mW Lil Squall all on 40M. Both are pretty much a Pixie II with a little lipstick.  Added a 555 sidetone to both of mine. I own a "Tixie" for 80M, a Pixie with a keyer chip, have never made a QSO with it.

LA3ZA worked 15 countries with his back in 2011 on 80M. I thought had read of an op who made WAS on 80M with one, but maybe am mistaken.

If a person is persistent, QSOs can be made.  After the novelty wore off, mine have pretty much stayed in the drawer.  Just a little too basic IMHO, a Rockmite or a 40-9er is a K2 by comparison.

Hello everyone!

So this afternoon, I sat down to do this month's Banner, and lo and
behold, there's no articles in the mailbox, with the exception of the
regular monthly KB6NU article. I don't feel right publishing such a
small banner, and I'm *sure* it's only due to the holidays, so I'm
going to do a one-time extension!

I'll wait for next Sunday evening (Jan 11) to write up the Banner. If
anyone has any article ideas, large or small, get them in this week
for inclusion! My ability to do this depends on you all, and I know a
bunch of you have some great things to write about! This is your
newsletter, I just collect and format it! Please help me make it the
best it can be!

Thanks,

I will be at a remote location portions of this coming week. I hope to be able to send Second Sunday Sprint reminders as always, but may be preoccupied with more important business (believe it or not). Rest assured the SSS is next Sunday, January 11, from 7:00 until 9:00 pm central time. Send in your scores the same as usual. Try to get them in by midnight, January 12th and I'll try my best to tally everything a day or two later.

Thanks and 72,

Too cool,
Just finished up my Pixie for 80 meters, pretty impressive for a transceiver not much bigger than a postage stamp.
