QRPometer Power but Not Correct
Folks,
I have a QRPometer that seems to be built correctly but does not measure power correctly? Compared to mine which does work correctly and accurately... Mine measures a power source at 1.92 Watts The bad unit measures 0.45 Watts from the same source. The unit powers up OK except that the minus sign is displayed and is flashing. Is there a voltage chart available? I probably could compare it point by point to mine but which are the best and most useful points to check? Chuck Carpenter, W5USJ EM22cv, Rains Co. TX

Terry and OzarkCon crew, Thanks for a great event. All the presentations were very interesting. The growth in attendance is exciting and surely the result of the teams devotion to make each event better than the previous year. David - K5DCM Mountain Home, Ar.

Re: SWL Rockmite on 7.122mhz
Bill,
It's been done by many, including with my RMs. You can get crystals from Rex at QRPme.com Or ESS Crystals, http://www.expandedspectrumsystems.com/prod4.html Good prices, fast service. $2.55 each 1-9 plus 2.35 shipping up to 50 per order I have a SWL Rockmite 40m that I would like to change from 7.030 to 7.122mhz. Has anyone done this? Where did you get the crystals? Chuck Carpenter, W5USJ EM22cv, Rains Co. TX

Re: Branson Bound
Tom Sevart
I plan on leaving in the morning after taking the kids to school and day care. On the way, I plan on stopping in and seeing my brother who will be camped out at a rendezvous south of Joplin. If you don't know what a rendezvous is, it's where they dress up in pre-1840's clothes with period tents and shoot black powder muzzleloaders. Going into a rendezvous camp is like taking a step back in time. Tom Sevart, N2UHC St. Paul, KS

Gonna make it a leisurely trip. Leaving Wichita around 2:30-3 this afternoon and plan on stopping in Joplin overnight. That way I can get my "Bob Evans" biscuits & gravy breakfast fix in the morning before rolling out for Branson.
For those coming and needing good batteries for portable ops, I'm bringing 24 charged and tested 12 Volt, 9 amp hour gel cells. They will go for $10 each or 2/$15 and there will be 2 of them on the door prize list as well. I will also have 4 of the bigger 17 amp hour (motorcycle size) gel cells I've had in the past. These will be $15 each, no twofers on this batch. They are also charged and tested. See y'all in Branson this weekend.

Hi folks:
Looks like I am in need of a LM358 IC (8 pin DIP). If anyone headed to OzarkCon happens to have a spare that they would sell, please let me know and perhaps bring it along to Branson. Need it for a rig repair project on the bench. Thanks! 73, Dave W0CH

Re: heathkit hm9
I don't have the full manual, but can direct you to a schematic:
This website has an amazing amount of Heathkit manuals available for downloading; occasionally (such as the HM-9) they have only the schematic - but if you are repairing older equipment, even the schematic can be a help. Heathkit Schematic and Manual Archive | Vintage Radio Info You might want to save this site for future use; I thought I'd post it for all to see, as others might also find it useful. 72/73 de John - K8CQA #278
