Johnny coming in a distant fourth. And, unlike Ozarkcon, participation
in Big Brutus doesn't affect as many people. Based on that, I'm
inclined to keep the SSS on the second Sunday of September, but am
willing to listen to arguments pro and con.

Think about it and let me know what you think by the end of August.

By the way, the rules for the 2015 4x4 Sprint are pretty much finalized
and will be revealed around the 1st of September. I play to slightly
revise the SSS rules as well, mainly in regard to scoring, but will
refrain from publishing them until after the September SSS, to keep from
confusing people.

John,

I say move it forward to 20 September!

C'mon, a whole two weeks is time enough for anyone to prepare for whatever, even the end of the world.  Why force 4SQRPers to do their SSS thing just because they're off driving a humungous steam shovel somewhere.

Move SSS ahead one itty-bitty week.

Wasn't there a previous occasion when SSS got moved ahead seven days to TSS?

Rockmite][-60 on the Air...

Chuck Carpenter

Finished up a Rockmite][-80 conversion to 60 meters.

Initial test using 13.8 Vdc supply and with dummy load produced about 930mW. RM output reduced to 400 mW (at 11 Vdc) and connected to a Topper amplifier, 13.8 Vdc supply, Z-match ATU delivered about 7 Watts to dummy load. Measured with QRPometer rated at 2% accuracy.

Will have it on the air, channel 5.405 MHz (if not in use), the rest of the week, 26 Aug to 29 Aug. Unless we have more T-Storms as we had today. Antenna is 88 ft EDZ up 40 ft.

Time 0930 z and 1230 z ,sending CQ wth pauses. Do this for about 15 minutes. These times seem to be good for DX and local propagation (maybe). [ 4:30 am and 7:30 am CDT]

Appreciate reports via eMail and/or QSOs.

The Banner!

Jeremy Utley

Hey all!

Just a friendly reminder to get your articles in for this month's
Banner! I just checked and I only have one article submission so far!
I will *not* be doing the Sept Banner until after my return from
Brutus - WA6CML and I will be out of town from the 30th of August to
the 10th of Sept, and then I turn right around and will be at Brutus
from the 11th to the 13th. Therefore, there's still some time to get
your articles submitted! If you have pictures available of your
shack, or your portable setup, would love to have those as well, to
feature on the front page of the Banner!

Send your submissions to ozarkqrpbanner@gmail.com as soon as possible please!

Thanks to all!

Jeremy, NQ0M

Re: Brutus Coming Soon

Jeremy Utley

I hope so.  Will pick up the tent from storage Friday, and WA6CML will order the brats from the meat market this week too.  I'm bringing about 30 hand-made brats in 3 diff flavors - original, apple, and pineapple.  These baby's are delicious!  Not sure if we'll make it back to Iola on Wed or Thursday of that week, but Friday afternoon I will roll out.  Still have not decided if I want to bring the KX3 or not - I don't think I'm going to bother bringing the canopy this year - was nice last year, but a pain in the neck to break down and pack up!  Wish I had a nice popup like Tom's, or Terry's little Scamp!
