Re: Pig Rig #147 - First QSO just now
Congrats Chip!
I am happy to hear that you got the "Flying Pig Rig" on the air.
We need to set up a Sked in the next week or so.
Terry does a great job with the label software.
hope to heat you on

Pig Rig #147 - First QSO just now
Just finished a QSO with KY0O on 7.0307 in Kansas City - he on his HW9. I sent him to the Pig Rig site, he was not familiar with it.
Putting out between 3 and 4 watts he gave me a 599.
Thanks to

Re: Knight X1M Kit
From what I could find out, it is called Kight kit not Knight kit and it's a Chinese made QRP CW/SSB transceiver that puts out 4.5 watts. Apparently this website is that of a fellow who is retired

1960 schematic on reflex regen AM pocket radio
Hi Guys,
Just found this neat little AM pocket radio circuit by searching
<transistor radio circuits 1960>. It's a 1960 Pop Com article. It uses one transistor for both the RF regen amp and relex

Re: Seen some smoke today.
Once upon a time a younger brother received an electric train set for
Christmas. After playing with it for several *hours* the train jumped
the track (yet again). Little brother got up and left it

They make component smoke smell bad on purpose so you'll be sure to not make that mistake again.

Since they add smell to natural gas so we'll know when there's a gas leak, I assume there's a guy in a back room somewhere at the resistor factory who's job it is to add the smell to

Re: PigRig Resistor Values
As someone who is afflicted with colorblindness, I always have to check resistors with a multimeter. Especially on resistors with tan bodies.

Re: Seen some smoke today.
The smoke you don't want to see is the magic smoke escaping from components in your circuit. Things never work quite the same following that.

Re: PigRig Resistor Values
Thats OK as I still check them as those 1/8th watters are a little small and when in doubt I always check them.
I made a jig a few years ago for just that. Just cris crossed 2 razor blades on each

Re: resistors, music, and oh-oh....math
Interesting post. I enjoy music as well, and play guitar. I also have built several vacuum tube guitar amps. (Is there any other kind?) Makes for a nice merger of hobbies.

Hello Bill,
Just read your post a-la PigRig ResistorValues........and noted that you like music and electronics. This is not asurprise and I suspect is quite common. I have often heard it said
