Re: Possible error on Bayou Jumper
Nope. L4 is just marked wrong on the PC board. Use the value from the Bill Of Materials which indicates 470 microhenries for L4. This IS the correct value.

You may have a problem with the polarity protection mosfet Q6.
In a strange coincidence, Q6 failed on my Bayou Jumper today. The symptoms were these: I noticed that I had to advance the regen control

You are right, I also used a modelers razor saw to cut the shaft.
Instead of bending the lock washer, I used a Danco #8 O-Ring (from Lowes) to retain the switch key. It fit snug enough you

Brass rod also works well. That is what I used for the little VXO I posted pictures of. I chuck the rod into a hand drill after cutting to length, and then using a file round the end off.

A really good material for making the pins for the crystal adapters is the 3/32" brass tubing you can get a Hobby Lobby That's what you see in the pictures in the Photos area. I cut them to length

Just about finished, found some of my crystals, 7044, 7123, 7122, & 7040.
Now to fiddle with regen and tuning range.

Re: Jumper Adapters
Years back, in the ARRl manual, there was a circuit showing an octal tube socket. No matter which way you plugged in the crystal it worked. Sort of an "X" circuit.
