Re: Antenna at Ozarkcon
It was a vertical from Bill in Augusta, I think.
I have one that is easy to dismantle.
I also have a imitation mag loop that might be good?

Antenna at Ozarkcon
The last few years someone brought a vertical antenna to use on the club station. Does anyone know who that was? I talked to Bart and health permitting, he sure wants to be "Station Master" again this

First of all, let me congratulate Bill, KV6Z, on winning the February Second Sunday Sprint with a whopping 21 QSO points. Bill's certificate will be arriving shortly, hopefully today. Coming in second

BJ and defective IRF510
I got some spare IRF510s today and replaced the polarity protection device that was heating up. Now running cool. Receiver working fine. Getting ready to put it back in the case. Still don't know

Hello Ken,
I think I heard you once but not well enough to make a qso. This SSS is absolutely the only "contest" I ever do. I usually AVOID contests by going to 30 meters. I do enjoy the 4SQRP SSS

Re: SSS
Thanks Bill. I had a CWops CWA instructor that was rather rabid about insisting that we QSY at least 2 kHz after calling CQ. I prefer search and pounce over running anyway, especially in a new-to-me

Hi Ken,
Nice to work you in the SSS. It amazes me how fast the bands can change.
Some time ago, if I heard nothing, I would turn the radio off. Now, if I
hear nothing, I wait. When the band comes

Re: SSS
Question: Is the SSS truly a Sprint in which the op calling CQ must QSY after every contact?
I heard Paul but QSB was so bad I could not work him. Then I managed to squeak out a QSL with KV6Z
