I did the mods this evening.
Sound is slightly louder, definitely clearer. Tuning seems a little more selective.
I wish it was louder. Next to the Nouveau 75 the N75 is more of what I was expecting

The MagicBox can handle 10 watts safely, but not a lot more. I've never tested it above 10 watts, so don't know at what power level the smoke starts to come out

I never set my Murania up in the stock format, but rather did the mod to make it into a regenerative receiver. I don’t find the volume room filling that way, but with the radio nearby it has

It’s says 10 watts.
I would be more concerned about the keying voltage of the tube type transmitter that may be too high?

John, VE3IPS, I agree - FT8 is NOT ham radio... Can see that it might be useful for "coordinated" propagation studies by designated researchers/organizations but it is NOT ham radio.
