Forrest,
There really isn't much actually similar to the Rockmites. Seems to be a conglomeration of several different QRP kits though. I've never been able to get more than 150mW from the one I

I hear the receiver sucks.
Lee, w0vt
It has been described and discussed on the Rock Mite reflector, thought to not be a competitor to the RockMite, and was thought to be unable to meed FCC regs,

Re: First 4Sqrp SSB net
I tried calling in at 7:30 to 8 but got no response . I was using an 857D set to 10 watts and a ATAS 120 mobile in South Bend IN although I'm usually in Lubbock TX. Anyone hear me?

Interesting kit.
Found a kit called the Frog Sound QRP. Similar in design to the rock mite except this has between 1.8 - 3 watts output. Available on e-Bay for $11.99 -

First 4Sqrp SSB net
Well, the first weekly SSB net is over, and it seems like conditions were not all that good, due mostly
to the sun sending out a few flares. I cheated a bit and cranked the rig up to about 20

Re: Monday night SSB net checkins
GE Jeremy,
From my corner of SE Kansas I heard:
WQ5RP you at about 3 1
K5EST at about 5 5 (That was the one you missed I think)
WA0ITP at about 5 5
and KA4NCR again at about 5 5
Good start Jeremy, as

Look up his real name, Tim Dick (I think he was born Timothy Allen Dick) and you will find his call and what appears to be his home address.

Re: I think I worked the "Most Interesting Man in Amateur Radio"
Tim and several cast members did obtain a ham license, according to an article that I read and when his call was publicly released, I did look him up on QRZ. Don't remember the call however.

Tim Allen
I read the other day that he now has Tech license, but started out not having one. Apparently a large number of the staff has tickets.

Re: YouKits vs. MFJ
Dennis
There may not be dramatic difference in receive performance in this price class as tuey may use similar ICs. I don't readily know if both use a DDS vfo but that is a plus for stability. Not

He didn't say where he actually was listening. He just answered the guys who were up a few and giving their call sign once or twice, then worked his way down. The pattern was pretty obvious. Up 5

Re: portable QRP
Hey Doc,
Exactly how did he specify LIDs up 5 and then hide but say others up 3?
Sounds like a neat technique!
Unc Phil
I notice the various W1AW/1 or 2 or whatever # are using the 1 UP and 2 UP
