Re: antenna issue found
One of the ham mags had a article about using a tree as a vertical. Don'tremember the issue or what the conclusion was. Must not have been good or guyswould be using it for portable work! 72

Re: antenna issue found
- I think the answer here might be, "Yes - but..." Even at QRP power levels, there can be varying amounts of interplay depending on where the tree is touching the antenna along the voltage/current

Great idea......
The crystals are spaced at .200", but the problem is the "individual crystal" leads are spaced at .200" apart and a dip socket spacing (one side to the other)

Does it make a difference if the wire is insulated or bare when it touches trees?

While using a switch is pretty much out, has anyone given thought to adding an IC Socket and mounting the Rocks on a DIP Plug (or header)? Then it should be quick and easy to change frequency. And it

My antenna wires touch tree limbs all the time. That shouldn't cause you any problems.

Terry,
After getting this note I went over to pre-register Patsy and myself. I forget how we have done this in the past. As I recall the club covers out registration and the motel for two nights

You can use 1/4 watt resistors (plenty of 4k7 at Radio Shack) if you can get the slightly-thicker leads through the pcb holes. You may also have to stand the resistor up.

GM Terry, my horiz loop is 20 ft high, and the reflector loop
is the same length 140 ft closed wire loop. The reflector
loop is just placed under the horiz loop. You can put an
