Well I just made a 3000 mile-per-watt QSO. Was it to Japan - nope. France - nope. It was to Hickory Ridge, ARKANSAS !
The first QSO on my 7122 version of the one-transistor transceiver. 80 mW.

It was indeed me. That 569 RST occurred a few times, but each was only for a couple of seconds. The QSB in NJ was enormous and your sig would then go to 229 or worse.

I think I got it figured out. My problem was
the difference between the labeling and the schematic.
Where the schematic says "speaker" the label says "phones".
