Re: multi board rigs
I still have mine pig rig, what would be nice for this or similar project is a micro controller for module switching frequency counter etc.

multi board rigs
I remember following the Multi Pig builds and thinking I would love to do one, alas it was MUCH beyond my skill level. I will ride along with interest on the rig discussions.

Using the SAVXO in 160 meters....
.....anyone taken the SAVXO and made it work in 160???? If you did ------ how much frequency variation were you able to realize?
Thank you, in advance, for your reply....72, Jim Rodenkirch K9JWV

Modular Rig Build
Near the bottom of this page, you can see how a sloppy builder (me) stuck something similar together on a piece of cardboard. This is the infamous "Cardboard Combo" darned if it didn't work pretty

Re: New Kits
I would be very interested in an SSB XTR. I have a kit CW XMTR and a kit RVCR. A crystal controlled XMTR for 40, 20, and/or 17 would be great for me...

Sounds like it could be fun. I have been working towards plug-and-play modules with my Beach 40 project so I can swap out experimental sections, this sounds very similar.

I would go for a SSB kit.
How about something like the "Let's Build Something" rig in QRP Quarterly. Plus, you have the BITx, and others. It's relatively easy to build a crystal filter now days and

The multiPig rig is a cool one. I never got one for a number of reasons.
* I have a number of all band rigs
* It looked complicated
* It didn't come with a way to make a single package. Just a bunch

Sounds a lot like the Multi pig that that DIZ used to sell!
I'm good for a group build!
I think we have plenty of Dream boards left if they will fit in?

Modular Rig Group Build
Great idea Mike,
This would make a great group build project on the reflector. There could be many contributors taking on a specific board. Diz's toolkits might be employed

That could certainly be done. Diz has some of the boards and kits available to do some of those functions. See http://www.partsandkits.com/rftoolkits.php.

Don ---
I agree with your thoughts. I would like to perhaps see a mother board approach to the rig. A set of basic modules:
audio amplifier
crystal filter
product detector
receive mixer
receive input
