Fume hoods aside (yes, they are a good form of protection from inhaling nasty stuff), but a fan pulling the nasty fumes away from you will also be a great help.

Tinning Toroid leads
Sitting here tinning some toroid leads watching the coating boil off and the smoke.
I starting thinking they ought to make the magnet wire so it puts off a nice fruity smell when you are boiling the

Thanks a million guys. I think what I saw was the maxpedition 9". The elecraft bags are beautiful but I would have to buy an elecraft to put in it hi hi.

I use the Maxpedition 9" case. That goes inside my backpack (normally), but for a day trip, I can stick the KX3, my ARRL mini log, a small LiOn battery pack and a mini paddle in there,

I use a LowPro Adventure 170. It fits my KX3 and accessories (key, headphones, antennas, patch leads etc.).
Wally world has them about $35.00.

Question about a KX3 carrying case
A while back I saw at a website a canvas , zippered carrying case for the KX3. I suspect it was a tackle bag of some kind. Do any of you elecraft guys know what case I might have seen?

well, the A =9 and the K is 4 so the averaged sun spot activity is down so sun storms of subsided but the near number, the K value, is still a tad high...might could be mo betta by tomorrow....
