Re: 7122 and QRM
The Spanish speaking SSB stations last night were parked on the 40 meter frequency of 7060 Khz because they were QRMing my stint as N4A, the NAQCC 9th Anniversary Special Event station, on 7058

Re: 7122 and QRM
I've heard SSB too and assumed it was Canadians to the North. But, I couldn't understand them as they are on the wrong sideband for my SS-40 rig up there, so don't know for sure.

Hi Terry,
Many South American countries can operate ANY mode anywhere in the 40 meter band as well as all the other bands. There is occasionally a bunch of Spanish speaking stations running SSB right

Just curious,
At one time I thought that the voices that we heard on 7122 were Canadian hams
using SSB. But after looking at their band plan (below), I'm not so sure. It

Re: QRPometer mod
I've been thinking of putting sides on the QRPometer using scrap PC board, but that would make it harder to change the battery.

Here is how I solved the exposed wiring of the meter. Radio Shack sells a project box that works. A little bit of whittling on the box and also on the corners of the bottom circuit board and the board

Tom,
Neat way to solve this weakness of the QRP-o-meter! In my opinion this the only problem with the meter.

Wow!!! Phil thank you for doing that antenna calculation for me. That is very interesting and intriguing. I would never have thought that my dipole would be a true blue nvis.
We should be able to
