Many of the checkins, callin at their own speed, NCS will match that speed. Some are fast.. some are slow,

Re: Cyclone 40 PTO mod: need advice
Tom
life can get busy for each of us. (been there, doing that)
i can't recall if your Cyclone is already built, but take some data from a cold start (it is as easy as pushing the frequency readout

Re: Tiny Tenna?
It's not apples and oranges but if you consider how many 1/8 lengths at 146 MHz an antenna 40 meters long would have you might come up with some silly number like that... ;-)

Somewhere in the past I read that an 80m dipole sees 200 times more signal than a 2m 5/8. Don't know if it's true or how to prove it.

Michael,
I 2nd Tom’s suggestion. Using his method it made a very good portable NDB chaser out of my DX-440. You won’t believe the difference it makes.

Re: Cyclone 40 PTO mod: need advice
OK, I'm an idiot.
I found the mod kit on the back of WA0ITS's QSL card, of course enclosed in my Cyclone 40 kit.
I am so embarrassed.

I think I found the problem.
We have had 2 wind storms in the last few weeks. I suspect my Doublet and dipole both are broken again. The last time people couldd hear me but I had no ears. Ill tilt my tower down and fix my wires
